The new Caribbean 14FS features our redesigned removable Frame Seat (FS) that provides improved support and comfort. The frame seat is equally comfortable while paddling or as your camp chair.
The rear tankwell has been redesigned to maximize storage capacity and also has an additional stern hatch for added accessibility. The forward tankwell hatch behind the seat has been redesigned to better accommodate internal gear storage.
The Caribbean 14FS remains highly stable and lightweight with an efficient hull providing exceptional tracking, complementing the rest of the Eddyline Caribbean models.
Like our Caribbean 12FS, the handles on the Caribbean 14FS double up as a one-handed paddle parks.The cockpit features adjustable foot braces, and an abundance of mounting surfaces.

This kayak looks like a great compromise. The fliexibility of a sit on top for access to cargo but still sleeker and decent performer. Expensive but I'm really considering it as build quality seems excellent.

I have the eddyline 14 previous model, it's extremely stable in rough sea. But I am now looking at the Epic V6 surfski kayak hybrid, it's 16 ft long and 23 inches wide so it should knife through the water by a good margin better. It starts at $3,500 though and about 250 for shipping. So it's considerably more expensive. But when you look at the eddyline 14 FS with a rudder which is a $350 option. You can see how if eddyline had a kayak that size with a Rudder feature it would probably cost about the same price. Also importantly the eddyline is 50 lb and the Epic is 39 lb or 32 lb for $4,500. So the Epic V6 kayak surfski hybrid 32 lb, 16 ft long 23 in wide with a rudder is a cracking little vessel. When you think about all of the totality of what these kayaks have to offer eddyline is tough to beat for the price but the king is the Epic.

Until you hit that People’s Republic of China made Epic against a rock or sit on the deck of it. ;) and be careful strapping it down too. I’m the guy with a boat shed of about 30 kayaks and canoes. You aren’t ever going to get a thumbs down for making the point that there are other nice Kayaks out there and the more the merrier! But the surf ski is not even close to comparable to the C14FS on many many levels. People are getting a 14FS for durability, comfort and stability. A surf ski is for quick to the water and efficiency at the cost of durability, frame chairs and versatility for fishing, etc. Your comparison is lost on me. I could see owning both but saying one is better or worse is like comparing the Apple pie against the Pecan pie I just ate. I am lucky I only ate 2 pieces of pie before reading this!

Also, a lot of the cost of the C14FS is in the Frame seat and other additional outfitting. Remove that to be closer to the Epic and the cost would come down several $100 less. The price difference is right in line of weight vs $ amount that you see across this industry. Each LB of savings is about $100 more.

@@HappyPaddlin eddyline has a pretty decent seat No Doubt oh, I have found it to be quite comfortable. But what about the Epic, I don't think that comes with the seat? I see people sitting directly on the plastic in the advertisements, wouldn't that be uncomfortable? Can a seat be fitted to it without too much customisation?

That style of boat, less is more…all about the rotation. Maybe a small backband at most.

@@HappyPaddlin I wasn't aware epic kayaks were made in China? I make the comparison because they are both sit-on-top kayaks. Although the V6 is a surf ski kayak hybrid I would say it's more of a kayak than surfski since it has a rudder. But I think the eddyline is really set up for packing stuff around which I have found excellent. I love being able to put a big cooler a food in the back and a tent and be able to island-hop for a few days at least. I just want to go faster and sit inside freak me out because often enough I go through rough water and speed is becoming more interesting to me.

If you had to choose this model or the sandpiper 13, which would you choose? I’m 5’11” 185 pounds. I own cockpit kayaks and sit on tops; I just can’t justify buying both.😂
