Күн бұрынWhat to do: A whole day in Singapore! This has to be one of the easiest cities to get around. The bus system seems very convenient and you can use the Grab App. In this video, we decide to explore the city on foot. The sidewalks are huge, clean, and shaded with huge trees and plants. It’s just a walking-friendly city. We start on Orchard Street and head to 313@Somerset mall for boba teas. We head towards the marina walking through Fort Canning Park and then to the famous Merlion statue (about 4km). Afterward, the kids were getting tired so we took a Grab to the Gardens By the Bay for dinner and a light show. It was amazing to see the whole park lit up at night.

ABOUT US
We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. We hope our vlogs will inspire you to get out and travel, too!

Singapore is like an island theme park by itself where everywhere is so nice and clean and fun and you can shop and eat all day and safe still be enjoying bits here and there leisurely and still get some fun 😊

Some of singapore's favourite drinks to cool down is iced milo, various milk and boba tea, ice lemon tea. You could try the singaporean breakfast - some kaya butter toast, half boiled eggs in soy sauce, coffee or tea. Great that you caught the local ice cream uncle. Its quite the memory for a lot of singaporean children since theyre the most active at after school hours.

What a lovely family! Can’t imagine your children are walking without complaining, it is quite a long walk through the civic district. There is a lovely Fort Canning park and a shrine of the last Sultan of the Malacca Sultanate just above the cemetery.

25:55 I like how your kids taste durian ice cream. They take a small bite to try and just shake their head if they didn't like it. Some people are too dramatic about trying something new and have to go all insult mode if they think something taste bad. You taught your kids well to the right attitude to life and adventure.

Fun fact: Fort Caning Park used to be a populated cemetery before they converted it to a park. Most of the cemeteries had been exhumed and the headstones are lined along the walls just next to it. It used to be owned by the British during the colonial era, and the old buildings on top of the hill is now a famous hotel. You can see some headstones left still intact as well. Have fun exploring at night!

That Ferris wheel is actually called THE SINGAPORE FLYER…it’s one of the iconic landmarks in Singapore..:glad that all of u enjoy Singapore that much…❤

@@KepoinYukz there’s always cheaper varieties for food at hawker center. Guess it’s expensive for foreigners, or expat for housing rental. But our local housing is nv an issue despite the raising in cost. But still manageable. The worst will be the stupid piece of paper COE for car.

@@KepoinYukz It is expensive if you include cars ownership and private housing. There are very affordable food and shopping around Singapore. Majority of Singaporean can afford to own their own house. Europe is actually more expensive if you dine out.

I came across your channel today and I enjoyed every minute of this video. You guys seem like great parents and I was pleasantly surprised that one of you ordered a durian ice cream ( Most foreigners I know are not fans of durians). As a local, I love ice creams by these mobile stalls. I always go for the ice cream sandwich.

You could always ask one of the locals how to get on the bus, I'm sure we would be happy to help. You can pay with coins to get a ticket on the public bus, ask the bus captain if you're still unsure. Hope that will help!

There are alot of american expats in Singapore & no doubt it is not a cheap city but if you are on expatriate's term (working) & eating in non touristy areas, then, it is affordable. Singapore is also good to raise children because the standard of education is high & it is the 4th safest country in the world now. You should purchase an unlimited travel card for bus/train in subway station (SMRT) to get around.

What a lovely family you have! Here's a hint, for the truly unique Singapore ice cream experience, ask the vendor to put the ice cream block in a slice of colourful "rainbow bread" aka Roti, instead of the wafer. The chewy texture of the bread contrasts with the ice cream nicely.

The large field in front of the National Gallery and Old Supreme Court is called the padang (malay for field). Although people do use it for sports, it is also a significant historical ground. It is where the victory parade for Japanese surrender at the end of WW2 was held and also our first few national day parades were held here

Hey nice video and I subbed! There is definitely a kayaking scene here. Along the rivers/reservoirs or mangroves, sea, round island, each having its own appeal. Sea wise there are these floating housing structures called kelong and u can visit people living in them or dine on restaurants during kayaking break.

krn visa yg di indonesia sdh hampir habis biasanya turis akan ke spore sehari dua hari lalu bisa ke indonesia 30 hr lagi, ke spore lagi dst bisa setahun ada di asean
