You can 'pin' the Note Repeat, that way you wont have to hold it down and performing will be a lot easier :-) You do it by pressing + holding Note Repeat, and then clicking the left button of the 8 white buttons at the very top of the Maschine (Pinning also works with other options). Then you can just press Note Repeat once to select/deselect and it will stay on top

I was gonna say it seems like they would have taken into consideration that people might want to toggle it on and off instead of press to hold so I figured that probably wasn't as big of a con as he made it seem.

Hey Andrew, great videos man! Quick tip for your struggle with automation; if you hold shift and then press one of the automation buttons it will keep it on indefinitely without you having to hold it which will free up one of your fingers. Hope you see this and hope it helps!

Question: can the MIDI I/O on these devices "pass through" the MIDI between the computer and another device? For example, MIDI from computer via USB, through the Maschine out to a MIDI-only sound module, or say you have another MIDI controller, can that pass through the NI device to the computer? Logically, I would say yes, but it doesn't hurt to check ..!

I love having both of these. I don’t need the Komplete mk2 but I never learned to play the keys (only been a drummer) so it’s nice having the keyboard for that experience (among other things).

Hey Andrew! I am a big fan, I was just wondering... I am a beginner at music production. I am twelve years old. I use GarageBand and ableton live light. I have a Novation Launchkey that I got for my birthday, and I am saving up for a launchpad. I was wondering, should I get the launchpad? Is there something else that you recommend that I get to extend my experience in music production. Thanks a lot Andrew! Love your videos, hope you reply.

im not andrew, but i hope ill be of help firstly, the launchkey already can function in a similar way to launchpad (clip launching and drum rack in ableton), while it still has a keyboard. unless you want to pull off shawn wasabi craziness, you don't really need a launchpad. secondly, i would suggest saving up for a full version of ableton instead. the lite version is very limited, as you might have already experienced. pricey, yes, but more useful in the long run. thirdly, and this is just a simple general advice - you don't need a shit ton of stuff to do music. i've been doing music for around 5 years with only my laptop and headphones, and i got my first midi controller (alesis v25, a midi keyboard with pads and knobs) last christmas. but, you're twelve. there is a high risk of you growing out of this "producer phase" and then you will have a lot of expensive stuff simply lying around. hey, i started with music in the same age, so im not really saying you shouldnt follow your passion, but maybe consider not spending a lot of money? good luck with whatever you choose =^.^=

Thanks for sharing, Andrew! So you know, you can set those functions (Note Repeat/Arp) to 'toggle' mode. Hold the button, then press one of the buttons above the screen (it will say Arp or something). You will know it works when the Note Repeat button stays lit. Peace!
