You’re asking what’s the deal with all the demon and animal themes. That’s the criteria they were given. That’s the theme. Japan casual, samurai, demons/Oni, mythical creatures, animals from legend.

The skin at 8:38 is a Japanese food called Spam Musubi. It's basically a rice sandwich with grilled spam in the middle, and it's wrapped with nori/seaweed. Delicious as a snack, terrifying as a fortnite skin. 😂 Interesting fact- Japanese warriors began making musubi as food to take into battle bc of it's portability and ability to keep throughout the day without going bad.

I believe the crow skin is based off of a Karasu Tengu which are Tengus that resemble more like a bird while there’s the most powerful version of a Tengu which has a long nose but yes that skin will definitely be my new favorite

season themes for the future: -Space theme: we have had alien invasion, but not a space astronaught theme before. -Egypt theme: A desert theme, pyramid poi season is long overdue. -Post apocalypse theme: An abandoned city would be sick -Ancient japan theme: Maybe for chapter 6 or 7 as we have had a modern japan theme recently -Retro season: A poi themed around 80s towns would be awesome -Star wars season: We have had marvel, how about star wars

I think we need a pirate themed season. Maybe like split the map and pois into many small islands, some being very big and some small. Then use like pirate boats to get around. It would be a very big gameplay departure but I think it would be very Awesome!

Those demon looking things are probably supposed to be oni, just like samurais and such they are part of japanese folklore, also some skins I could imagine be ronins and also there is the girl itt the frog like that and for some reason I have a feeling it is supposed to be a kappa cosplay, who just like oni are yokai from these myths

Sorry to say Tabor but I agree with the ranking. The skins you mostly like are just too simple: Basic characters with a basic design with nothing special. Just ordinary people in modern clothing. Also the thing they are going for with the horns on characters are japanese demons or Yōkais fitting for the japanese theme. Edit: As I saw from other comments I stand corrected that they are Oni and not Yōkai

8:44 is Onigiri, which is a popular Japanese Rice food dish, where rice is wrapped in sea weed sometimes salmon on top, so its tongue is salmon, body is made up of rice and its outfit is sea weed, and Oni in Japanese means monster as well, so I think this is a pun skin.

It looks like they are just mixing around parts from other skins onto a new skin to me idk why, like if you took a shoulder piece from one skin, head n torso from another, recoloured them, rearrange stuff around so it’s not exactly copying another skin and snagging ideas from other skins or if you only had some leftover legos so you have to build a figure with different parts from other guys.

There's lots of horns because these skins are based on Japanese Oni. (They are said to be demons back from the time of the samurai).

Muscle Shiba! The 2 Tailed cat is a divine spirit along with the crow, Yatagarasu. The horns in many of the skins are a tribe of ogres called Oni. The "Raccoon" is called a Tanuki who are shapeshifting mischief makers.

It’s seems we’ll have a samurai Battlepass in the future. That being said the only skin I liked out of 35 was the raccoon samurai. All the others don’t really do anything for me we have plenty of skins like the others already in the game.

The fish I think is a Siamese fighter fish, which would make sense. The dog was made of vread and was a Shibu Inu (also from Japan) I'd say all of these are 100% Japanese themed. Also Panthers are black Jaguars so I'd say he was a panther 😊
