I got one of these about a month ago and loaded up some 223 with it. I LOVE IT. Seat the bullet shallow at any random depth and take a reading and just click in and I was able to hit it on the first shot. I set it several times to see if it was just a fluke that I hit it on the first try but it comes in right where it supposed to be every time. I had been considering getting the previous version that is about half the price but seen to many comments on it rusting so I paid the extra for this one.

I like the universal application feature of this. Hornady has been proactive in their support of reloaders during recent years and they make quality products. Thanks for sharing!

They aren't particularly supportive of 6 ARC handloaders.

@@ReloadingQuest Anemic brass production for handloading. They made a decision to move on and support other new developments at the expense of 6 ARC after everyone got on the bandwagon. I sincerely doubt it will be a viable cartridge in a few years in terms of other bullet manufacturers producing ammo. As for brass manufacturers, Starline is the only other one to date, despite 6 ARC having been SAAMI certified 4 years ago. I generally like Hornady, but they seem to have willfully dropped the ball on this in pursuit of the "next big thing" (e.g., 22 ARC, 7 PRC, etc.).

Nice compact design. The clicks look like they feel super nice and can hear them well which is great.

Thanks for the video. Have been wanting to see this in real life. I’ve been using the Frankford Arsenal Universal Seating die, which is a really sweet set. The majority of my dies are Hornady…but the expense of 6 micrometer seating stems moved me to the FA kit. That said…I miss my bullet seating guides built into all Hornady seating does. The FA USD does well with anything above .243…but I have to gently guide each bullet into the seating stem, which is a pain.

No problem! I would recommend this. I have not used the Frankford one but heard good stuff about it! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I’ve been using the Frankford Arsenal universal bullet seating die for quite some time now and it’s been great. Now it don’t have audible clicks it’s just a smooth turn of the dial but it’s a firm smooth so it don’t move while using it. It beats having to buy all the different seating stems from Hornady for their A tips and ELDs. This works for all of the different calibers and bullet profiles. Good video though

So I have tried that seating die from Frankford and had really bad luck with bullet run out and seating rings.. maybe there was something wrong with mine. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Is the click adjust shorter once installed on the die versus the old hornady micro adjust? I know the Frankfort arsent m press doesnt have the clearance for the old hornady micro adjust.
@DrewEdwardBacklas7 ай бұрын
Looks like an improvement on the previous micro-just seater stem. I’ve got 3 of them and like them. I use them without that knurled ring or the rubber o ring. As long as you still have enough adjustment I figure you could do the same with this version.

Do you prefer this over the Matchmaster seating dies? I have the normal rcbs full length ones and looking to upgrade
@ReloadingQuest7 ай бұрын
I do like it that I can switch it to any of my Hornady dies and I believe the Msrp is around 60 bucks for it. So it beats the RCBS dies in value for sure. I do like how accurate it seems to be and you can hear and feel the klicks! That I don’t get that with the RCBS. Where the RCBS wins is the seating window and place to put the bullet so it seating strait. This hard decision. If you have Hornady dies I probably go with it. I feel that’s where I will be going in the future of me getting dies! But the Match master seating dies are amazing as well. Really can’t go wrong but I like the click and feel of the Hornady and it’s really well made.

Ended up getting Matchmaster for 308 and 300 RUM. I don’t think they make it for 9.3x62 so I ordered a click adjust now that I finally found it in stock and hornady dies for that
