Carenado are the MASTERS at creating great looking visual models. Their texture work is impeccable.

When you pull the prop lever on a VP-equipped plane, it doesn't brake but accelerate as propeller drag reduces significantly.

Another great video. I have the C182T and really enjoy it. For immersion this aircraft, as well as the mooney, is one of the reasons why I decided to keep by velocity one over the Honey Comb as I like the immersion of having the vernier throttle/prop/mixture controls.

You purchased the plane! I enjoy this plane more than I thought I would. It has a turbocharger engine. The marketplace update to 1.6 was a plus but the yoke is not centered. It's an easy fix before takeoff. I noticed on Carenado site, they have a 1.6.2 update which fixes the pilot yoke center position. I guess I'll have to wait for it to reach the marketplace.

The update notes on the marketplace are often not up to date on Carenado’s aircraft. Given that the aircraft appears to be using the Working Title G1000 in the video I think it is probably up to date.

As someone who does all their flight training in a skylane they’ve done a beautiful job with the unwillingness to stall of this aircraft however the actual snap when it does stall is quit unrealistic it’s more of a snap to 15 to 20ish degrees nose down in my experience.

Great to see the 182 getting some love. I think it was the first add-on in the store and Carenado keep improving it. A couple of nice things are the turbo and Wx screen. Perfect for short field/hot/high/bad Wx where a Cub isn't capable enough but a Caravan or Kodiak is too big. I'm not sure about the engine modelling. The turbo keeps the MP high at say 12k ft, but only if you adjust the mixture. IDK though, never flown a turbo.

As fast as I can tell, their Seneca V is a better simulation of turbocharged engines. The manifold pressure is steady until critical altitude, regardless of mixture setting

Caranado to me are what I call medium built aircraft. They are not low end or on the high end but they scratch that itch for price to performance.

Good video! I purchased this last year. Don’t fly it much because as you noted, the pilot view is way off. Must lower seating just to see very bottom underside of wing, so then can’t see out front.

It's not "off" - it's realistic. In the real aircraft, pilots have to crouch to see out sideways.

You often use the side slip - in the real world pilots would extend the downwind leg, using their judgement, to arrive on final approach at the correct height.

Nah he's good man I slip all the time irl, usually when coming in on mountainous approaches with terrain or tall trees to avoid rotor and low alt. Slips also fix a high approach pretty quick, in ga maintaining speed and glide picture is so much more important than getting a good glide angle imo

I shouldn't think it will be much longer before we see the A2A version, which will have an accurate flight model and a more immersive feel with a proper walkaround, just as it was in the FSX/P3D versions.

The 172 is a4 cylinder and the 182 is a 6.

My first impression as soon as I loaded was not a good one. Every time was brought up, the pilot position was all the way down to the floor. I had to adjust everything. An update from the Microsoft store fixed this. On mine, the zoom in the cockpit (VR) does not works. It does not works only on this aircraft.

Yep - some aircraft don't work well with VR. I don't have VR, so don't have to worry about that.

It's odd. Whenever it does it, the multiplayer aircraft vanish and then load back in. I'm running in Ultra, so it could be related to that too.

@@jonbeckett I also run pretty much on ultra I have tweaked a couple of settings but for the most part I am running on ultra. I do have a fast internet speed not sure if that might play a roll. I have a one gig internet connection. I also run in 1440 and not 4k. For graphics I'm running a 12GB 3080 and I do have 64gigs of ram. Does it happen when your not recording for KZfaq?

@@jonbeckett I don't think it is a server problem otherwise the problem would be wide spread. It looks like a bottle neck problem for it to just pause for a sec or two then continue without crashing to desktop. Try lowering some critical settings and see if the problem continues. If the problem stops then there is a good chance you have a bottle neck somewhere in your system. Any how your videos are pretty good and very informative.

@@kosys5338 Recording the screen with OBS pretty much maxes out the processing - I know recording Ultra through OBS sometimes looks choppy - it's never choppy on-screen (running in 4K locally doesn't help either lol)

Funny, I thought it wasn’t too bad. I’ve certainly heard worse from Carenado. It certainly sounds like how a 6 should sound.

@@crevusllohcin I know. It sounds exactly like the real airplane, which is to say, I don't like the way the real airplane sounds. It sounds like a very bad vacuum cleaner!
