The fact that they included the hat Knuckles wore in Sonic OVA makes me even more excited for this show. 😊

I like the grounded story, it means it can focus on the characters (especially knuckles), and could even bring in some lore about the echidnas through wade’s training

Considering Sonic 3 will be about Shadow the Hedgehog I kinda hope the Knuckles series will introduce Rouge the Bat. Hell, she could even be the minor villain of the show. It could start off with a series of mysterious burglaries and she could be revealed to be the culprit. Just a thought lol

I remember the dark times when a "spin-off" series could have nothing to do with the continuity of the film that originated it. Conan the Adventurer, the Neverending Story, Robocop... even Aliens almost had one. They were series made for kids who never saw the originals but knew their premise. And yet, out of that we got the amazing Batman TAS which was a loose spin-off of the Keaton films. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the first movie-to-show spin-off done right (as in "respecting continuity") was The Real Ghostbusters, followed by Disney shows such as Aladdin or The Little Mermaid.

I’m excited to see the relationship between Knuckles and Wade. They are both very different characters who will probably be interacting with each other a lot. I curious about how this is going to go down.

Even though Mario blew me away. Im still excited as HELL for this and Sonic 3. Also, seeing Renfield on the weekend, and hearing Ben Swartz aka the Sonic voice actor curse up a storm was great for me.

WOOOOW. The Sonic OVA was a big part of my childhood. My brother and I had it on VHS (It was a white VHS. Cool). And we watched it like everyday. Fast forward YEARS and my son LOVES Sonic and I recently showed him the OVA on KZfaq and as I saw him starting to fall in love with it, the memories of me watching it as a child came rushing in my head. So I hype as hell for this.

Ngl, if Sonic and Mario's competing movie franchises reignite their rivalry I won't complain. I mean, I don't want it to be antagonist and I do want both IPs to succeed, but if both franchises can push each other to be better and better and Mario vs Sonic once again becomes a legit debate amongst kids everywhere, that would be pretty sweet!

The fact that they were going as far as being back that OVA Cowboy Hat for Knuckles really shows how devoted they seemingly are with diving into the franchise’s history. Quite a shame that it won’t be a prequel to the movies though. Hopefully they would devote SOME time doing that in the show.

Do you think sonic 3 would take place in sonic's world more and introduce more sonic characters than before due to the success of Mario? TBH, I could see that happening. Belive the first two Sonic movies took place in the real world so that the movie could appeal to the general public. Still, due to Mario's success, this could encourage other studios and franchises to go entirely the CGI route.

I think they did this thing with wade cause they are not allowed to adapt sonic comic characters. There's a whole rights thing I'm not going deep into rn but they have a couple echidna villains which I thought would work. They could also introduce Mecha sonic as the villan but they can't be possible since he tried to steal the master emerald in the games

It’s crazy that the sonic movies went from looking like a soulless cash grab with that original movie sonic design to now having a whole knuckles tv show with references to the ova

I'm assuming the title will be slightly longer, maybe the title on the clapboard is a placeholder. Also I'm hoping the plot we got with Knuckles training Wade is just a subplot for an episode or 2 instead of what the show will entirley be about.

It be cool to revisit that lizard villain from the early concept of the first movie. Bring him back to be a minor villain while revealing some juicy background lore between the owls, the echidnas and just maybe even the hedgehogs.
