That is such a stunner of a tank and the systems to keep it that way are awesome and so tidy. Love it!!

So good to see an Oz setup with such lush LPS corals. Wish my local sold Coral like that. Those two Apex cupboards are neat. Please share an update on this tank in a few months.

That tanks PH is 7.96! They really need a recirculating co2 scrubber. My co2 media lasts about 5 months when recirculating and brings the tank PH up to 8.45. I actually have a skimmer rule that shuts off the skimmer at 8.4 because the recirculating scrubber works too well.
@GREGELZZ3 жыл бұрын
looks like they already have a co2 scrubber there mounted to the right of the skimmer

Model 3 Tesla or reef tank mmmmm . Tell what though, I’d hate to service that RO/unit, mines on the laundry wall and the cursing I let rip when changing a filter ! I suspect he take his out to service.

I haven't seen anything (unless I've missed it) about the setting up of your "mothership tank". Are you still working on it? Would see how it is coming along.

Love the tank Cam but I think in the long run you will end up hating the Trident as I did. Never find the reagents in stock, when they get low the calcium results are all over the place, also the 2 month supply lasts closer to 6 weeks. Not worth the cash imo. Ended up selling mine.
@GalleryAquaticaTV3 жыл бұрын
That’s a shame to hear. The reagents do seem to be getting lower than I’d expect already. Cam

@@GalleryAquaticaTV And for 45 dollars a set i think they should last the full 2 months.
@terencefugazzi51643 жыл бұрын
Great set up! Jason, please contact our support if you have an issue. Also, it is fairly common for people to do a few manual checks and dont remember this. The first set of reagents do not last two months due to set up usage - that is why on the box it says 1-month supply even though they are the same bottles as in the 2-month kits. Really appreciate the video and the care taken on this install.

@@terencefugazzi5164 I contacted support several times in regards to the trident as well as 4 of my service tanks that we ran them on. Running no manual tests at all they last roughly 6 weeks as previously stated. My report of wildly Inaccurate results on calcium is very well documented and continues to be an ongoing issue. The product needs revamped and yall need to work on a better flow of reagents leaving the warehouse. Your company is always out. I sold the unit and have no use for it anymore. Thanks for the reply but yall lost a ton of loyal customers with that product.

@@jpruitt546 Reagents are available everywhere - and they were NEVER out of stock at our company online store - so that is completely false information. Early in the pandemic we had a number of stores that could not be restocked due to our office being closed down. In fact, very few customers experience the issue with Calcium readings. The Trident reagents should last two months if no manual tests or calibrations are run and if tank parameters are in normal reefkeeping ranges. Sorry you had a bad experience. Take care and enjoy those fish!

Hey Cam, it’s Cam the other fish guy from Melbourne! Interesting that the Mg is running quite high on the epic tank No4. Is that for a reason? I understand that if magnesium is too high, it can have a negative effect on alk and in conjunction pushing ph down. From what I understand, higher alk (9-12dKH) and mag (1400ppm+) has a direct correlation to coral growth, and lower of those is for better coral colour. Just wondering if higher mg levels without the higher alk has any effect? Cheers mate, Cam
@GalleryAquaticaTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cam, I can’t remember what mag this tank was running at, however I typically like to run mag a little high (1400-1450). The reason is that the mag-calcium ratio is one of the most important aspects of stoney coral growth, and you’re much better off having the mag a little high to ensure you’re mag is always at least 3 times your calcium level (however I usually aim for 3.2 times calcium level). why does the skimmer have a c02 scrubber a ph 7.96 why not 8.3
@GalleryAquaticaTV3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I think the media in the scrubber was exhausted, because the tank normally runs much higher than 7.96. Cam

Yes, we have a number of tanks that have used it for years and seemingly holds its accuracy. Cam

Why is the water level so high in that sump Cam? Aren’t you guys worried about it overflowing when you shut down the return pump?
@GalleryAquaticaTV3 жыл бұрын
It is a fairly full sump, that was how it was designed to allow as much space in the refugium as possible. We always test the drainage amount when the return is turned off, and this sump does get very full when the return is turned off but it doesn’t overflow. Cam
