This is our BRUTALLY HONEST review of the new Minion Land at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida as well as our first time eating at the new Minion Cafe- everything we thought about the food and the theming!
We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of Minion Land since it was announced earlier this year. According to Universal, the new land is supposed to fully open by Summer 2023 and while we're still waiting for construction walls to come down at the new ride: Villain Con Minion Blast, the rest of the land has quietly opened. Although at the time of this recording, official operating hours for the new additions have not been posted on the Universal app, the Minion Cafe, Evil Stuff (the new store that the Villain Con ride will exit into) Bake My Day, (the whimsical bake shop perfectly finished with a hot pink cupcake on the roof) Freeze Ray Pop, (a quick service popcicle and beverage walk up window) Pop-a-Nana, (the new popcorn stand and Illumination Theatre (where you can meet and greet Illuminations characters like the Minions, Gru, and various other Sing characters) are fully open and operating.
We had high expectations for the food at Minion Cafe after seeing the posted menu that was released last month and while our first dining experience was underwhelming, we haven't given up on this food spot just yet! The theming is so well done and this has the potential to be the perfect spot for families with young children to eat. Our overall opinion is that Minion Land is such a great addition to this area in Universal Studios and we're so excited for Universal to be adding more and more family friendly attractions like the Kids Zone that's under construction!
