Why would you want copilot on a server OS 🤨

Good question. Thanks for watching.

Love how Server Manager is pretty much identical to the one released with Server 2012. Also, I'm noticing more and more UWP apps coming to Server 2025. Scary that the client and server flavors are blending closer and closer together.

Yes, I see a Windows phone OS with the same controls as server and client in the near future.

Thank you for the lookaround. I was curious if the changed the look of active directory users and user properties but I think not

Pretty much the same. Thanks for watching.

On Win11 In control panel you right click the selection, such as Devices and Printers, and then select open. That will open the control panel version rather than forcing you to use the Settings app to access those options. Does that working in server 2025?

Yes for now at least.

Are you still running Windows Server with a full-fat GUI on top? Can I ask why? Does it still integrate with your Xbox game controller?
@techpub5 ай бұрын
I love a fat GUI. That way I have PS, CMD, and GUI all in one. Like a big jelly donut. I don't use an XBox controller in my work computers. If someone paid me to play XBox, then I would.

@@techpub lol full-at Windows is terrible for cloud instances, since it's so much more expensive to run. If you have the luxury of on-prem it will be different I suppose

Core is only good for domain controllers and Hyper-V hosts honestly and even then coworkers used to click and drool interfaces have problems. I wish WAC was a little more polished.
@illegalsmirf5 ай бұрын
Windows Server per se is legacy software. There's very little to no reason to be using it unless you need to support software legacy software or work for a regulated industry that mandates it. PowerShell is the result of MS's envy for the Bash shell but it's nowhere near as good.@@Wahinies

@@Wahinies Imagine how cool it would be if you could run everything you need on Core and manage it by WAC

It is not new OS - it's an old OS with new look and new functions. 135 running processes XD

Exactly, standard MS OS upgrade. Slightly change the interface, move a few things around, and "A NEW Windows OS" is born. 😴

I'd prefer that over drastic changes.@@vcp93

I used to use linux but server 2022 is so good and easy to setup it saves me so much time to configure stuff i had to do on linux manualy.. Its really good! I bet the 2025 will just be better!
@Wahinies5 ай бұрын
There are still many uses for linux. For example I just spun up a recursive DNS server in a docker container in a Debian 11 VM with just 1GB of RAM. Windows Server is unable to operate normally with that little provisioned RAM.

@@Wahinies I agree however today ram is cheep like buying a big mac so there really is no reason not to use more ram

@@illegalsmirf how odd! Seems everyone except you is wrong .. You are like a guru! According to Statista, Microsoft Windows accounts for 72.2% of all servers in the world. Meanwhile, Linux holds a 13.6% market share.
