FIRST LOOK: New 656bhp Aston Martin Vantage + 200mph V600 Le Mans

Six hundred and fifty-six horsepower is what you’ll find in the new Aston Martin Vantage. But it hasn’t just upped the power and stuck on some new badges. There’s more poke, sure, but miles better tech in inside, a sharper edge to the drive and some slicker looks - including that mammoth front that grille that’s needed to provide 50% more cooling than the old car. Under the bonnet we have bigger turbos, more cooling, new cams - and a revised agreement with AMG that means Aston can sprinkle a little more magic into AMG’s base unit, upping power and torque to 656bhp and 590lb-ft respectively. There’s a complete suspension overhaul, adaptive damping and stiffer everything, with revised drive modes and a wider spread of abilities. Inside, well, that’s seen a step change. A new Aston touch screen, a new wheel, better, cleaner instruments and switchgear.

Looks like friggin BRZ to me. I am negatively stunned at A) How not-beautiful the car is. B) How blind you must be to call this stunning, compared to the 2006 Henrik Fisker styling.

The v600 front grille looks close to new amg gt's front, im not surprised if it has anything to do with the airflow since they are using similiar engines

Definitely looks gorgeous now like a baby One-77 the previous one wasn't bad but was kinda off looking plus the tech made a Civic interior look futuristic.

The "V600 nose" you refer to was the LM nose, the Vantages that had the 600 upgrade did not get the blanked off grill the large bonnet vents or the re-styled (DBR 1) style wing vents

So glad aston martin is focusing on making their cars more fun to drive, whilst retaining their beautiful and iconic design dna and keeping just little things, such as physical buttons. Also i love how this design resembles the classic One-77, peak brand 🔥😍

Exactly. Doesn't look special or beautiful. Looks like a chopped up DBX, which looked like a swollen fish gasping. Nothing is as beautiful as the 2006-2017 Vantage.

@@zovslavsforever I believe this is a somewhat private opinion, but in my opinion, Aston had changed the look of its models too much since the launch of the DB11, something that did not happen at the time of the DB9, for example.All cars from that time had their similarities between them, like the V8/V12 Vantage had some details that referred to the DB9 for example. Another detail was that the design language of some models was not compatible with that of the time in question, like the Vanquish and Rapide that were sold alongside the DB11, but had the style of the DB9.

@@T_Nogexactly and the DB11 did not look as good as the DB9. I think the designers were too flattered and thought they could just throw some marketing jargon and people would be blown away, like the weird bonnet that they put on the DB11 that was hinged at the front rather than the cowl, they did that to eliminate body lines that made the DB9 so good looking, they quickly realized their mistakes and went back to the original style, the vantage was a complete mess and I still think the rear is lacking a lot and needs more work, they need to use the old one-77 or virage and vanquish style tail lights, the back should also have some angle and not be too flat. They should also get rid off the offensive styled diffuser and just use a body colored bumper just like the old vantage and DB9 vantages.

Should've kept the current Vantage's headlight design. That design made the Vantage standout and looked cool + menacing. This new design is just a copy paste of DB12.

Definitely better than the previous one that looked like a fish that's very surprised. But still not as beautiful as the 2006-2017 Vantage. That's still the most beautiful modern car ever.

We need to thank Lance Stroll for $200k price for the entry-level Aston. The design is spot-on, the style is very recognizable, adding more power is fun. But then there is the Mercedes AMG GT with better tech, 4matic and less price. It would be great if Aston kept $150k price tag with some entry level version and the S version with more power and money.

That interior looks like it's now worth the money that pre facelift was a serious weak point and a 150hp increase gives it the power now it should've had from the start. Looks alot better too maybe not in that colour just hope it'll drive aswell as it now looks 🎉

I agree with the key; I just enjoy inserting it and turning it. There's something pleasing about it. Much more than sit down and press a button. Deal-breaker in this case? I don't think so.

Srsly, I am not even a big fan of Aston Martin - I always liked their DBS, but I prefer Italian and German cars in general. But they managed to convince me this time. The new Vantage looks absolutely great, has plenty of power and a nice interior. Curious to see the price on a proper speced one!

Looks much better than previous one, but same very similar to new DB12. From first glance, no noticeably difference. Interior is huge improvement in both.
