I already have these in black 14oz, and ordered a pair of 18oz for heavier sparring. Great gloves. Hope i like the 18oz just as much.

Did you get the 18s yet? How do they compare to the 14s? Are they the same thickness, just wider?

I love my 18oz for bagwork, conditioning and if sparring beginners or slower guys. They’re wider, maybe a bit thicker and a bit denser to fit all that mass. But not to the point of being too dense. But more to the point of protecting both guys in heavier sparring. Haven’t tried it for that yet, though. I love the hand compartment so much that I’ll probably get the 16oz as well. I’m about 5’11, have a 6’4 reach and weigh about 194lbs. Boxing first made me drop down a lot in weight, then all the heavy bag work made me more muscular and heavier. So I probably should use 16 for the most part. But when we’re going light, I find 14oz to be more than enough. No complaints about it either.

These vs the RIVAL RFX-GUERRERO SPARRING GLOVES P4P EDITION vs fly super laced x for heavy bag work? And which size if only for bag work?

Either one is great for the bag, a have a fighter that uses the Guerrero RFX in 12 oz for bag and mitts. They seem great for that

I have heard a lot of reviews that these gloves are quite “soft”. It’s not that I would try to injure my teammates, but don’t they fill like a pillow when connecting to the opponents face?😅

They are soft but still offers good protection for your knuckles and your sparring partners

Both are very similar. I like the Phenom’s stealthy looks, but the HmM have nicer leather and padding. Can’t go wrong with either though.

I like a compact snug fitting glove. I have the fly x for now and fit almost perfectly. Between these, fly x, and the rival guerrero. Which has the best hand compartment and most slim profile?

Fly X has the better hand compartment and the slimmer profile, only issue for me is the lining seems to bunch up inside
