First-made wood ocarina

In this video, I made ocarina out of wood.
I made it for the first time because I wanted to have an ocarina, but it was a fun work. It took a long time because there was more manual work than I thought.

처음 만들어 본 것이라 실수가 많습니다. 흙으로 만드는 방법을 배우시면 좀 더 쉬울 거라 생각합니다.

Thank you for a lovely video, the finished ocarina is really nice. My Grandson has asked me to make him one. I would think the size of the hole which you blow through is important (infilled with hardwood,) What size gap in the hole do you recommend for the best sound?

hello? Thank you for the compliment. Ocarina's hole spacing doesn't matter much. Instead, the size of the hole is very important. After drilling a small hole (about 3mm in diameter) at a location where the grandson is comfortable holding it with his finger, you need to tune it by gradually increasing the size of the hole. This is because the pitch is low when the hole is small, and the pitch increases when the hole is gradually increased. I hope you make a great ocarina!

I'm sorry but could you please better explain the wind way and sound hole process? My small brain doesn't comprehend this process 😢

Hello? Thank you for watching my video. The wind road has to be at a good. When the amount of wind blowing through the mouth is 100%, 50% should go inside the ocarina and 50% should go outside. That's why it's hard to make an ocarina out of wood. So it is advantageous to make the body and mouth of the ocarina separately. The hole in the body of the ocarina then marks the position of the fingers that are most comfortable to hold in the playing position and then pierces them as small as 3mm. You can adjust it by adjusting the pitch and increasing the size of the hole in a very fine hole. The bigger the hole in the ocarina, the higher the pitch. O som da ocarina depende do tamanho do buraco. Quanto maior for o buraco, maior será o nível de ponta, e menor será o nível de ponta.
