If you want to stop your camera overheating then pull the battery out of it. I have a duel USB plug on my boat. I run two cheaper cameras and a Go Pro 8. This is mostly true for the Go Pro. I ordered a battery door that keeps the plug open. Or you can run without the door but the door still keeps it alittle water proof. But I pull out the battery and run a cable from the camera to a USB port. Just like plugging in your phone. The battery is what overheats. Without a battery and the camera running off the 12v boat power through a USB cable your overheating issues may and prob will go away. Have have two cameras I run that way with no battery's and a chest cam that lasts roughly 2 hrs continuous on one battery. That one I have 4 batteries good for 8hrs. Pull your batteries. Run off boat power. Try it. Good luck

You are absolutely right! I already do what you are saying and my hero 8 works perfectly that way. Now the hero 10 well they will still over heat and not sure why. I don’t into the boat tho I run external batteries packs. Tho the 10’s will not always overheat lol it’s so weird!
