In the gorgeous Ascari blue color, a drive on over 2500km up to the tops of the Austrian Alps was an amazing experience. And here is the best footage from it.

What a beast but the only thing missing is the aggressive sound of the exhaust that was in the pre-facelift, must be related to emissions, that's certain.

silexTM The Best Of Quattro I heard it is some kind of particulate filter. Still sounds great, but you are right not as monsterous as before. Aftermarket exhausts for the win

Carnatix you can't rev the European version due to a rev limiter at 3000rpm when standing still.

@@lukass.5851 this R8 doesn't have it though. Most of the other ones do have it. If only there was a way to greatly reduce emissions without killing the sound of the engine, especially for a naturally aspirated V10.

Why is the "R8" their highest performance level car when the "RS" series is considered superior over the "R" series? The R8 should have been the RS8.

No, because it would be confused with the S8. The R8 name comes as a heritage from the Le Mans racecar.

The S8 is a full size sedan. This is a coupe style supercar. But the S8 still has 605 horsepower, so I'm not complaining.

They're essentially the same car. You benefit Audi regardless of your decision. But this is more comfortable, even if it doesn't handle quite as good as the Huracán.

No, as you can hear in the video. It's silenter due to new emission laws. 108db to now 95db in the new one.

actually a decent / better looking upgrade. But fucking eco-fascist ruled them down. Worst rev sound (when in neutral) in history of cars with such performance. It sounds like a freaking pimped 4 cylinder. My dads A4 also has the same rev block around 3k/4k rpm - and we are talking here about a +140k€ sportscar. RIP non electric motors...

It's coming from the RS-line that is on any other Audi RS model. That's why. I think they look awesome.

Auditography yes but if you compare the r8 to any other rs, you will find that it is nothing alike shape wise. They do indeed fit a rs6 which let me say is a wagon. Or rs7 which is a sedan. But with the r8 its a different story. Just my opinion tho.
