This is our first ever night train in India, and it’s not in first or second class, it's in third tier economy (AC 3 Tier) which means we don't know what to expect. We don't see many other foreigners with us either... Do we get to sleep? Are the bathrooms usable? What is it like? What can you expect when taking a night train from Goa to Kerala? Find out with us!

You can ask railway staff to clean the toilet if necessary. No matter how many times you used during long journey.

Had you looked up a bit, you would have been the coach numbers being displayed in small LEDs well before trains arrival time platform for commuters to wait near their respective coaches saving the last minute rush, just ask people around if you find yourselves clueless, we are all family here!

Thanks for the tip! We noticed this in other stations afterwards but is it possible that the one in Goa does not have LED screen indicating the coach numbers? Asking people always helps indeed. Thanks for watching! 😊

@@KeithandDev Highly unlikely, but might be. Also do understand Indian railways is ultra-affordable, highly subsidised for the masses so if you want to experience better services and show ppl how it is, please opt for premium superfast trains like Tejas, Vande Bharat, Shatabdi - First AC/Executive class, with little incremental fare if you can afford, surely you will have better experience then, because services should be rated in context to what you pay. Have a great time here!

Firstly, Indian Railway System is very infromative enough to locate your coach n berth (just have to understand the pattern) ... AC coaches are identified by alphanumerical number B1, B2 etc for 3 tier coaches and A1, A2 etc for 2 tier coaches. If the Coach is numbered H1 then it is half 2 tier and half 3 tier. Few minutes before the arrival of train, both coach numbers and train number is displayed aternatively on platforms. In world;s largest trian network there will be hiccups. For frequent travellers like me, it is nothing but adventure. Forgot one thing, though not mandatorily followed by travellers (especially long distance travelers), passengers can sleep only between 10 pm to 6 am (now made as 5 am i think) and rest of the journey one is supposed to sit and travel in the lower berth.

U can visit south India u can see variety of different foods temples heritage and culture especially Kerala and Tamil Nadu it's amazing Kerala, munnar, kochi, wayanad, Ooty, coimbatore, manglore, Gokarna, Coorg, Bangalore, Mysore, Alleppey, Udupi the world heritage site tanjavur bruhadeeshwara temple tamilnadu and palani temple tamilnadu here the god idol is made up of different ayurvedic medicines when we pour any liquid on idol it absorbs the medicinal properties and we drink the liquid we don't get any diseses

Honestly it was the kindest thing, I almost cried, we are so impressed by the kindness we have experienced so far in India. Sadly we have no plans right now to visit Bengaluru, but if we dont make it this time it just means we will have to come back :)

Hi Keith and Dev, loved this video and how real you both are and just don't hold anything back. Sorry Dev, but Keith's joke at the end about the"Love is Blind" series was just too funny. It is evident from the videos how much he loves you so it made a good joke for the video. So glad that the friendly lady was so helpful with finding the correct train and coming to check on you once boarded. You even gained a subscriber from the people below that were friendly and helpful as well. When you are confused in a foreign place and language, a helpful and caring person makes all the difference. Can only imagine the odor on the train but glad that you were able to get at least some sleep during the night. Looks like the nice hotel accommodations will make up for the short comings on the train. Enjoy your stay and the nice pool in the hotel. You two make such a great team and couple so looking forward to the rest of your travels in India and beyond.

It is very nice to see westerners actually mixing with the public and travelling like Indians. This creates a very close relation between you and us and that opens up both our minds, our understanding of one another and tolerance level. Thank you you two. The Indian railway is on a massive modernisation drive and being a huge country of 130 crore people it will take time but the signs are good.

while booking your next train tickets make sure the train no starts with 124,12 /etc as they are superfast trains and always reach on dot time they are very punctual and toilets are clean and tidy ex. :- shatapdi exp, rajdhani , vandebharat, douranto exp etc. avoid booking trains who starts with no 14,39,145 etc they are express trains and would get delayed for long period of time for some issues also arent maintained so efficiently takes more frequemt stops in the middle of nowhere and therefore take longer time to reach the desired destination like yours started with 39 hope it helps

@@KeithandDevyes...IRCTC app. Book food and it will deliver to your seat number directly. But i advise to nit pay early. Let the food come and then pay..As there is sometime confusion is created and you might miss your food..which will make you to go through all the refund process which is tricky.

It's always nice when you come across an extra kind person - they certainly seem to be around when you need someone. I think it's clever of Dev to take a box of lara bars along. I always make sure I've got some vegan snacks with me in case I can't get something easily. I've heard some horror stories about getting sick from the food in India so I think you're definitely doing to right thing being careful. So happy for you getting to say in such a nice place for a bit of work and relaxation. The room looks beautiful and the view is just stunning.

Hello Keith & Dev, It will be safer and more enjoyable for tourists in India to travel in first and second class trains. You may not have noticed but let us tell you that about 5 to 10 minutes before the train reaches the platform, information about the coach number and where the coach will stop is available on the Display board. It should needed to be everywhere & not just trains tbh, Majority indians r not used to western toilets still in blindly copying of west or confusing modernisation with westernisation The western toilets r coming up everywhere even tho squat toilets r way healthier option acc. to science; Look china they didn't change their stuff or habits like remove squat toilets for sake of look develop or modern, their ppl r used to squat toilet thus they still have squat toilets everywhere at homes, apartments, public areas, trains, hotels, western toilet r only there in few super hifi five star hotels or restaurant.

You're picking up fast foods from railway station and trying to make a meal out of it. Instead why don't you visit a good bakery or a departmental store and stock up your bags with proper food? 😊

Travel through atleast 2nd AC or 1st class. The experience and services are better. Also you will meet good and wierd/angry people sometimes. Try to get over both of them...will help you anywhere while traveling.

Service in trains is based on which trains you choose. There are premium trains in India where the cleanliness and service is much better. I would suggest you to try the Vande Bharat Express next time.

Looks like the 2 AC and 1 AC seats are given to the other companies if you are not able to book. Under normal circumstances, you should be able to book even if the waiting list is 100+ unless the chart is already prepared. Nevertheless, Tatkal is another option in the government website IRCTC and other private companies to make last minute booking. The cost is usually 50-75% more. I'm from Karnataka, India. I got bit by bed bugs in the 3 AC some 12 years back, since then I always avoid 3 AC and below. Take only 2 AC and above. The compartments (Coaches) are not too old, cleaner, less crowded. I do prefer the new faster Vande Bharat (VB) as you can save a lot of time. Only flaw, no night time trains yet. There is a new night train VB being proposed from Mumbai, which will take another 6 months.

There's nothing like real toilet, Fyi one was squat toilet or indian/asian toilet seat while other was Western style toilet which out of ignorance you said real toilet.
