Thanks, this is the first video I've seen that walks people through picking the best spot / area types to dig for stuff.

In 07 08 09 i found 486 diamonds in 29 months of digging, my biggest is 4.42 carats, which walmart now owns, good luck, my advice is to probe first

I get excited when you put a video up, your channel is the reason I decided to take a trip halfway across the country to come to the Creator of Diamonds! Also got my channel interested in it as well! 2 trips already and found 1 diamond second trip for my son! Maybe if I ever come back we can do a collab, but I'm sure that will be a while down the road, that is a super long trip for me from Washington DC!

Thanks for the tips, Solomon!! The last couple of times I have been to the Crater, I have dug about 3-4 feet down. I might try this method next time I go. I appreciate you taking us along and sharing your wealth of knowledge!!

Awesome lesson as always. Been about 8 times and am still searching for the first diamond but each time I learn something new. I feel like identifying decent material is a weak spot for me and I will definitely use this to help. I do have a question, why should you stay away from beyond the mine shaft? I’ve washed material from that drain beyond the building and some of my best looking centers come from there, no diamond of course but lots of heavies. I hope your channel takes off. Many visitors should take advantage of it.

There is very little lamproite in the north end of the search area. I have found a couple diamonds there, but it is not near as productive an area. There are heavies, but not many diamonds.

Good luck!! There are several regulars that will give some pointers to those who ask. Just a reminder though, these guys are there with the same goal and wont spend too much time away from their process. I am glad the videos help, I hope you’ll give a shout-out when you find the big one😂😂! Again, good luck on your visit!!!

How lucky was the guy from France last month,he found a brown diamond over 4 carats just sitting on top of the matter.I llive 3 hours away n can't wait to make my second trip there.can you recommend a reasonable $ motel,I'd like to dig for at least a week to hopefully find a diamond n scratch this off my bucket list.Thank you for this informative video.

There is a freshly remodeled hotel in Nashville that is very reasonable. I cannot remember the name of it though. I wish I could stumble across a big diamond like that guy.

@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner an Oldtimer taught me that one years ago when I lived and played in the Mojave desert, I should have guessed you knew that one 😀 Do you know the carpet trick also? Ray taught me to put carpet into culvert tubes along state highways Be safe
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Жыл бұрын
@@tomcook5813 i have not put carpet into the culvert, there are usually children running through it playing, I suspect it wouldn’t last too long. We do put large rocks in the streams and furrows to make traps, and cut gouges and holes into the hardpan as well.

Will you post a video of what to do with the box of goodness we can order? I have a box on the way and am going in blind lol I have watched your videos about field work BUT when I receive this box of goodness I may be lost as what to do at home with the “virgin” material. Thank you!! 😊
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 2 ай бұрын
You’ll need to break it down a bit with water and time. Some people crush the lumps with wood. Remember this is material that has not been uncovered as long as Crater of Diamonds, so it will take some time to break down.

Do you think that this area is getting overworked so to speak. And how often do they till that up?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 2 жыл бұрын
It gets plowed a few times per year. This helps erode the field and expose more diamonds.

We will be going this weekend...this will be our 7th or 8th time....probably somewhere between 40-50 buckets sifted and gravel gone through at home with no luck...just some tiny garnets, spinel, and hematite..along with some agates and pretty jaspers...we've done all our homework with gravel deposits and digging from short north to far east , west ,and south at the pigpen...clear to the snakepit....beginning to wonder if we should focus more on the south-eastern drain?..any pointers or help would be appreciated immensely...
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Жыл бұрын
It sounds like persistence is the best advice. As long as you are concentrating correctly (which I bet you are since you are finding other heavies) then you will find one. It will happen for you. The east drain is about as good as it gets, but a lot of people work that area and keep it clean. Have you tried the area around the hedge apple tree just north of the trail between the boot wash and the North wash pavilion?
@adrianwilliams2228
@adrianwilliams2228 Жыл бұрын
We appreciate the words of encouragement....we've done some surface searching north of it and found some pretty neat small clusters of crystals in possibly an agate....but we've never sifted from that exact area....just near the along the trail in the upper east drain....Thanks for the help and reply back....you've definitely been a big help with all the videos and tips....hope to see more to come....happy searching!👍

In theory since people move buckets of earth out of the field daily wouldn’t the landscape continue to sink?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner 2 жыл бұрын
It does sink, but more due to the plowing and erosion.
