Ancient Radiation Therapy Technologist here. So great to see advancements in precision over the years. I smile when I remember doing treatment plans using cross-sectional anatomy photos (prior to CT scanning) and doing hand calculations for old cobalt60 machines. I remember the excitement of twin 6 MV linacs and a combination 6 / 15 MV with electron beam capabilities. I also remember working with sealed sources (eg Cs and radon Heyman’s) before fancy after-loading systems (eg Selectron) came into existence. We did our best with what we had but I am so grateful for the brilliant minds who led the development of this new technology, and the terrific, often forgotten, folks who use it. Bless them all.
