See past Sunday Musings: SundayMusings.org In 1941 the top leadership of the LDS Church wrote a letter to FDR\'s administration expressing opposition to the New Deal and the war buildup… but is this letter real?

My grandfather was in his late twenties was an adult who worked through the great depression. He tried very hard to never say bad things about anyone. When I asked him for his opinion about FDR, his jaw got hard and his face closed down. He took a moment to keep control of himself and try to give his opinion without breaking his rule about bad talk. His response came, "Well, I never had much use for him." Knowing my gramps, I knew he found FDR detestable.

I’m proud of President Grant for opposing the new deal and FDR. FDR was the closest thing to a dictator that we ever had. He was incredibly socialist. On the other hand, I’m not so proud of the fact that the fed chief was a latter-day saint and present it over the horrific deepening of the depression that happened during the FDR time period. He made it worse.

Truman Madsen said in his series on presidents of the church that HJG was strongly anti-war after his brother was killed in WW1. Also UT was Not strongly Republican in the late 30’s early 40’s. My grandparents were Democrats then but later changed. The Democrat party in Utah was very moderate then. My dad who served as a Captain in WW2 was Republican and had strong feelings against FDR, the New Deal, and also Truman. I believe the reason UT voted 62% in favor of FDR was fear of poverty and hope for prosperity. As the letter from the church pointed out the way to prosperity in our country is not thru public handouts. And in fact it appears what the letter suggested for the future of our country has come about. Also BYCollege was in Logan. My grandmother went there. The correspondence is fascinating! Thanks for bringing it to light and for all your research. I am going to read the full 18 pages. Anderson was a staunch constitutionalist. We need more people in our church leadership today like him. Before the laws were changed under LBJ where a church had to register as a 501c3 in order to be tax exempt, many leaders would touch on politics even in General Conference, the evils of Communism were a regular issue. They actually warned the members against voting for FDR, they did anyway in Utah. The First Presidency was really upset with that. The church was forced to taper language as part of the guidelines to not lose 501c3, the law was partially made in order to muffle church leaders in all churches from speaking out against evil politics.

Connor, if you can check out Cleon Skousen's work especially if you can get some of his lectures on tape. In one recording, he talks extensively about the calling of J.Rueben Clark who was a finance and contract attorney that uncovered a conspiracy in 1905 to start WWI. Clark, although never active in the LDS Chucrh went to the 1st Presidency and informed them. They asked him to keep them informed, and subsequently moved him into the 1st Presidency so he could talk to the saints about sustaining the Constitution and standing against communist doctrines and socialist influences. According to Skousen this made Clark the most unpopular apostle in the Church. Clark passed on his work to Ezra Taft Benson who had held a government position as Secretary of Agriculture, so Taft was familiar with shadow power. Taft wrote some fantastic books, namely, "An Enemy hath Done This", which quotes a lot of Book of Mormon warnings about the Secret Combination that WILL arise in the last days. When Taft was sustained as Church President, many of us patriots thought this would be a turning point in the whole church standing against them instead of becoming the HQ for the NSA Database and SLC as the capital for credit card processing. Skousen died iin 2006. A great patriot. I had a chance to visit with him in his home in 1990. Since then, there is not a General Authority in the Church to call us to repentance for our neglect and remind us of the very peril that took down both the enormous Jaredite and Nephite civilizations. Therefore, look around. It is no longer at the gates. All is not Well.

@MommaCrissa2 ай бұрын
A review on Amazon in 2010 describing Albert Pikes letter (and whether it was written by him or not, I don't care, it is coming true.) Even the Book of Mormon describes there are and will be conspiracies. "Illuminati Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2010 Albert Pike, an American General who had been enticed into the Illuminati by Guiseppe Mazzini, completed his military blueprint for three world wars and various revolutions throughout the world in 1871, culminating into moving this great conspiracy into its final stage. These details are as follows: The First World War is to be fought for the purpose of destroying the Tsar in Russia, as promised by Nathan Mayer Rothschild in 1815. The Tsar is to be replaced with communism which is to be used to attack religions, predominantly Christianity. The differences between the British and German empires are to be used to foment this war. The Second World War is to be used to foment the controversy between fascism and political Zionism with the oppression of Jews in Germany a lynchpin in bringing hatred against the German people. This is designed to destroy fascism (which the Rothschilds created) and increase the power of political Zionism. This war is also designed to increase the power of communism to the level that it equalled that of united Christendom. The Third World War is to be played out by stirring up hatred of the Muslim world for the purposes of playing the Islamic world and the political Zionists off against one another. Whilst this is going on, the remaining nations would be forced to fight themselves into a state of mental, physical, spiritual and economic exhaustion. On August 15th of this year, Albert Pike writes a letter (now catalogued in the British Museum) to Guiseppe Mazzini in which he states the following, We shall unleash the nihilists and the atheists and we shall provoke a great social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to all nations the effect of absolute atheism; the origins of savagery and of most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the people will be forced to defend themselves against the world minority of the world revolutionaries and will exterminate those destroyers of civilization and the multitudes disillusioned with Christianity whose spirits will be from that moment without direction and leadership and anxious for an ideal, but without knowledge where to send its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer brought finally out into public view. A manifestation which will result from a general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and Atheism; both conquered and exterminated at the same time. Pike, who had been elected as Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonrys Southern Jurisdiction in 1859, was the most powerful Freemason in America. He would retain that post for thirty-two years until his death in 1891. He also published this book, Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in which he candidly states the following, "The true name of Satan, the Kabbalists say, is that of Yahweh reversed; for Satan is not a black god, but the negation of God...For the Initiates, this is not a Person, but a Force, created for good, but which may serve for evil. It is the instrument of Liberty and Free Will... LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual or selfish Souls? Doubt it not!" Interestingly, in the same book, Pike emphasizes that Freemasonry is a religion based on the occult Jewish philosophy found in the Kabbalah. 43 people found this helpful"

@@MommaCrissa The LDS Church is embracing this right here: "receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer brought finally out into public view." @@AMS-my3ec every member is not blind to the repentance that needs to take place in the church. I don't support giving money to UNICEF or UN vaccine campaign. However, the greatest of all things that are correct is the Book of Mormon. If the church itself falls, what matters are the words of Christ to us and to follow. Honestly, I don't think we've seen the portion of the quote manifest yet. When it comes time to see Lucifer verses Christ it will be very easy if we know Christ. Reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, praying and receiving guidance to follow Him will be that source. We may be directed or counseled through a church leader in ANY church but it is up to know truth directly with God. The people of the church are in error of understanding what a prophet is. President Nelson and the rest of the 15 are very good men, but they are men and our if ignorance are leading incorrectly in several areas. I don’t know if the second editorial is actually from the First Presidency but I do believe that the Lord will cause his prophet to give the people what they desire even if it is unrighteousness. It reminds me of Doctrine and Covenants 88:32 “…nevertheless, they shall return again to their own place, to enjoy that which they are willing to receive, because they were not willing to enjoy that which they might have received.” This refers to telestial beings. They had voter registration during lunch at stake conferences, which were conducted by apostles. At one in St. George most people were registering as Democrats, so the apostle said "Brothers and sisters" (Utah had women voting in 1896) "The Lord wants some Republicans too!". As a libertarian, I'm against all deficit spending and a return to the gold standard. But, and this is very important, if a prophet of the Lord earnestly counseled me to vote for a socialist ticket, by gum I'd vote the socialist ticket! To think that devil in a wheelchair could garner a 69 percent majority in a region peopled by Latter-day Saints is, to me, unthinkable. A book by Jack Monnet "Revealed Educational Principles & the Public Schools: A Look at Principle-Centered Education Through the Prophets and LDS Educational History" also shows how church members disregarded the prophets and voted in Marxist social education in Utah. The church not supporting a war against the nazis, until after the country decided to go to war, would be in line with the church following society, on every social issue.

Interesting as I look back on that time period & the opinions & leanings of my grandparents. One one side of my family, my grandparents were adamantly opposed to FDR, his policies, opinions & actions. I heard my mother say that her father "hated" FDR. He felt that the programs & policies employed during FDR's presidency weakened the US moral & economy. On the other side, my grandparents had come out of the "Mormon Colonies in Mexico", nearly destitute & felt, not only that all of those things were good for the country, but also that we should "support the President of the US" in like way of supporting the Prophet. "We should never speak negatively nor against the President of the US". I wonder what they would all think of today's boiling pot.

I am 60 and my adopted father who was born in 25 and was raised with pioneer standards, lived by this. Just through him and how much he knew and was raised with, I'm going to believe it is real because he and his brothers joined the military in WW2 and Korea because of this statement! As far as Democrats always promoting communism or turning America into a kingdom, started with Andrew Jackson.

Whether or not this is authentic, it's in line with the "policy" found in the Book of Mormon of not initiating war against your enemies. The Lamanites repeatedly attacked the Nephites, and the Nephites repelled them because they did not lust for blood, they did not want to raise the sword against their brothers, but would pray for strength when attacked and beat them. And in cases where they surrounded the Lamanites and they were at their mercy, the Nephites would stop and offer them to go home in peace.

If I heard the quote before it did not stick with me. Should the US have gotten involved in the war going on in Europe and the Orient, even though it didn't pose a threat to our freedoms, established by the constitution? The bigger question is is God's prophet always right? It's a good thing it's fast Sunday, because I need all the blood in my body in my brain instead of my digestive system for this response. I wonder if there is a parable by Jesus of a stranger getting beaten to death and a Levite priest, and a good Samaritan walking by and what the good Samaritan did? I mean, if it took risk of life and limb and violence and the main subject, money, to protect the stranger would it be justified? Would it be a sin to not risk those life, limb, and money to save the stranger's life? Yes, president Grant received word from God. It's all about timing. Can you imagine how much of a threat Stalin would have been to the freedom of the world had Hitler not greatly weakened his forces. The time to intervene was right, when the time was right.

Conner, I suggest you check out the corresponding that happened between J. Ruben Clark Jr. and the highest leaders of Germany's 1930s political structure. When I was employed at The Church Offices in the 1970s, I read the correspondence to which I refer and subsequently chose to be inactive. It's obvious to me that you're trying to speak truth. God bless you!

"[T]his much we feel we can definitely say, that unless the people of America forsake the sins and the errors, political and otherwise, of which they are now guilty and return to the practice of the great fundamental principles of Christianity, and of Constitutional government, there will be no exaltation for them spiritually, and politically we shall lose our liberty and free institutions." -- First Presidency (Letter to U.S. Treasury, 1941 Sep 30)

I grew up during the Vietnam era. I wish I had that quote back then. I was still a teenager then, but I knew the Vietnam war was wrong. I had read D&C 98 and the war was clearly against the Lord's law of war. I was somewhat confused that the church supported the war and the draft. I think if I had that quote back then, I might have become a war protestor and draft dodger. Instead, I quietly went along with it. I knew that I did not want to kill innocent people so after my mission, instead of being drafted, I went into the Navy and never had to carry a gun except for one day on the target range. Do not get me wrong. I do believe in my patriotic duty to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. but in those days, I did not know about the enemies in government and in the leadership of the church. I did not know about the Jesuit-Illuminati conspiracy and the their new world order agenda. I did not know about David O McKay being a member of the Illuminati. When I did find out about those things, I was not in any position to do anything about it. I did sit down one day to look at our US presidents to see which ones were part of the Jesuit-Illuminati conspiracy. You spoke about FDR. With new eyes, I saw something that nobody has ever spoken about. Get this. Hitler and FDR came to power the same year, 1932. In the first four years, they both implemented socialist reforms that were almost exactly the same. In the next four years, Hitler started war in Europe, and FDR supported Briton. As you have pointed out, even though, the US had not declared war, we were fighting in the war, vicariously. The war was to see who would be king of the world, FDR or Hitler. FDR was clearly Deep state. He was part of the of the ruling elite. Hitler was not from the ruling elite. He was just a pawn in the hands of the ruling elite to get the war started. Germany was doomed to loss from the beginning. If FDR has lived, he would have become president for life and we would have had a socialist dictatorship, and the American people would have gone along with it because FDR won the war. It was a good thing that the patriots saw what was going one and killed FDR making it look like natural causes.

I lived thru the VIetnam war. It was an evil, murderous endeavor promoted by an evil, murderous US federal gubment and a general American populace deceived by their own gubment and, in the case of the mormons, deceived by their own church leaders......alleged prophets , seers, and revelators who were supposed to have known better, and are supposed to NOT lead people astray. WHAT A JOKE!!! Proof positive that one must place a question mark after everything coming out of a "prophet's" mouth. THe mormon church supported the Vietnam war and the draft back in the 1960's because THE MORMON CHURCH'S CHIEF MISSION IS TO PROTECT AND TO EXPAND ITSELF, like any other corporation on this planet. So the mormon church will ALWAYS carry water for a corrupt US federal gubment, just like it supported everyone getting the lethal / debilitating / unsafe / ineffective JAB in August 2021 , for the chineesecommunistparty virus.

I am coming to believe that Joseph was the last prophet. The First Presidency is a council of men discussing what they think is best. Is that why Pres Nelson has told us to rely more fully on the Spirit? The last 4 years have certainly demonstrated this. I truly appreciate your dedication to documenting your information.

BRILLIANT AND CONSCIENTIOUS WORK, CONNOR ! THank you for this eye-opening info. Your work continues to underline the necessity for getting our own personal intuition, inspiration, and revelation regarding decisions we must make within the political, cultural, and ecnomic milieu of that period of human history in which we live. We simply cannot rely upon or follow ANYONE, including alleged prophets and church leaders to lead our lives or to make our decisions for us. For any issue, it is up to us to vet our own sources of wisdom and guidance. Regarding America's willingness to act collectively (i.e. Pearl Harbor, 911) .............historically, that never happens until someone kicks us hard enough in the asss.

Very interesting video. Thank you. As a boomer born in 1951, I was not witness to anything you presented, but to me all it makes very logical sense. FDR was the most socialist president since Wilson, trying the best way he knew how to get us out of the depression. This included many socialistic type govt.sponsored programs to put/keep people working. Good or bad, you decide. The Church and it's leaders at that time were still very much aware of the abuses, by duly elected government, and suffered by the saints during the time of the prophet Joseph and the early Brigham Young presidency in Utah Just read Parley P. Pratts autobiography to get a taste of those many abuses Even later when the federal govt. outlawed polygamy the church suffered from the hands of the federal Govt.. The doctrine of the church has always been that a man needs to be self sufficient and therefore they opposed many of these programs. Although you mentioned it, the big cliff we as a church and nation were pushed off of, was Dec. 7 1941. I believe that prior to that, the brethren were opposed to the socialistic agenda of a nation at peace, while after that we were faced with a nation at war whose nose was bloodied at Pearl Harbor. It would be only natural for brethren to now support the purchase of bonds as they now would support our troops and those "fighting for democracy" The dates you provided would seem to support that. BTW, FDR was NEVER an isolationist. But he was the consumate politician who knew how to read the pulse of his electorate who at the time were overwhelmingly isolationist. He saw the handwriting on the wall and did everything in his power to support Great Britain before our own declaration. He just had to tread lightly to get re-elected 4 times!. Again, great video with much thought and research. Kudo's

This sounds just like Spencer Kimball's statement criticizing the MX ICBM "shell game" basing system that would have paved over half of Utah and half of Nevada to created a thousand "garages" to store a constantly shifting group of 100 MX missiles, each with 10 nuclear warheads. The purpose was to make them the primary target for Soviet missiles, making Utah a sacrifice zone in any nuclear war. The Jimmy Carter administration was pushing for the new B-2 stealth bomber and the MX shell game system. Ronald Reagan intended to cancel the MX if he was elected, but Pres Kimball's statement got out ahead of Reagan's election. Reagan did cancel the MX shell game, and took the initiative to negotiate a 50% cut in November clear weapons with Gorbachev. Democrats like to Portray Reagan as a warmonger because of his support for a defense against missiles attacking America, but he was the first president to CUT US nuclear weapons after a huge buildup started by Kennedy.
