Newly starded and first Rajdhani Express of Central Railways i.e 22221 Mumbai CSMT - Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express which was running earlier with MUed WAP5 will now be running with new concept of Push-Pull .
Seen here is 22221 Mumbai CSMT - Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express with decorated locomotives Ghaziabad (GZB) WAP7 30277 in lead and Ghaziabad (GZB) WAP7 30483 on the other end smoothly crossing Okhla Railway Station on its first Push-pull Run .
**Watch out for Perfect Acceleration **

yesterday I read an newspaper article about this...saved railways two hours on this ride and also allowed to add additional two coaches hence generating more revenue part ride...same will be implemented in all Rajdhani's it seems...great move by Railways and Ministry

Wondering why the front pantograph is used by the pulling engine in the front. Typically when moving forward the rear pantograph is used.

There's no such rule of using front or rear pantograph ... Both the pantographs are attached to the engine in parallel connection... Any one of them can be used for any direction...

Locomotive Power is for the load to pull, but not for speed....

Acceleration my friend. Check 1:45 onwards. Can reach top speed real quick, and that will save a lot of time in the journey. No need of additional banker locomotives while climbing ghats. They will use the rear pantograph to supply electricity and remove generator van which would ensure more passenger coaches can be added.

Push-pull is for areas with higher gradient usually ghatt sections to reduce load on couplings. And comparitively higher efficiency this way.

@@shree548nsk passenger coaches are limited to 24 no matter what. Our infrastructure is set up that way. Atleast in my region bcs Signal and track changing and all that. You don't want part of your boggies to be stopped at a signal in the next track during track change.

In this case the main purpose of the pusher is to help the train to climb the thul ghat from kasara to igatpuri without the need of bankers, saves travel time and further in the journey gives more acceleration to the train.

Dear mostly train needs this in ghat section and obviously it affects acceleration tooo soo its grtt to apply engine at the end..

@@dr.chaitanyajoshi5987 Yes true, then railway should come out with some small engine for this.. Bcoz i believe one engine is more than enough to pull train(wap 5 or 7)..till today it was working.. This extra engine can be used somewhr else to power train.. 10 mins halt at ghat station will not affect that much..

@@airmacxon dear the extra engine saves 20 min. Because it has to stop at 2 stations. One at the start of ghats & at the end of ghats.
