im a 58 year old dude in tennessee and i discovered Band Maid about a year ago. My favorite band hands down. They have me head bangin and the next song im two steppin. "Freedom" live version was the first song i heard. A little popish but then Akane made the drums cry for mercy and i was hooked. "Onset" live instrumental , probably listened to it about 50 times and gonna listen to it again as soon as i stop typing..............

THE best Rock band in existence. Japan is making all the Rock and Metal for the 21st century and igniting passions I had in the 70's and 80's for real Rock and Metal. They literally do not make bad songs, only very good, excellent or outstanding ones. Recommendations for more Band-Maid would have to include...their entire back catalogue and anything they make in the future. Also worth checking out some of the other superb, musically talented Japanese all-female bands like Lovebites, Nemophila or Asterism. Babymetal too, even though the superb, male, Kami Band play their music.

Of course we want more, we love watching the journey reactors go on with this Band. Blooming is a great song to start with as apart from being a great song, all their talents are on display, bass (Misa), drums (Akane), lead guitar (Kanami), and vocals ( both Saiki and Miku) are all at 100% but then I'd say that about every Band Maid song. Welcome to the world of Band-Maid, I have listened to them since 2014 and I still can't get enough, If you want hard rock you have come to the right place, Band-Maid have songs that cover 70s and 80s rock, punk, grunge, jazz, blues, prog and funk all mixed and blended so well you won't believe it, some people can hear 2 or 3 other groups styles in one song but it's all Band-Maid, you have a lot to enjoy, so have fun.

Welcome to the club, there are many songs by Band-Maid that can make you an insta-fan. For me it was Thrill and Real Existence in that order, their first two MVs. From then on I played all song on their YT channel in order from oldest to newest. Within a week Band-Maid became my favorite band of all times, and they still are to this day, and it will probably stay that way forever 🙂

The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Anthony, that was the same reaction I had when I discovered them about 2 years ago and hardly listened to anything else since. I sh*t you not, now I must listen or watch them a good 4 hours a day at least. They have dozens of tracks that are just so good, and they're all different, it's not like the same song over and over. Got to see them live a few weeks ago, and they are the real deal live too. Just a fantastic group of TALENTED ladies that love to rock. They are now and probably will be forever my favorite band. Sorry Beatles, Rush, Moody Blues, Yes, Pink Floyd, Triumph, Boston, Journey, AC DC, Zeppelin, The Who, there are five ladies from Japan, in Maid costumes, that win.

Band-Maid really shines in a Live setting with their superb stage presence, crowd interactions and musicianship. Their official Live videos has excellent audio quality and great camera work. I suggest the Live version of Play followed by Domination. These two songs were played back to back in their LINE CUBE SHIBUYA concert and the last note of Play flows into Domination.

Kanami's tapping solo before the breakdown had about 9 notes and she took one away each time she repeated it. AND STILL KEPT THE TIME!! She is a Goddess among the Goddess'. Listen to it again. Surprised no one else has mentioned it that i can see. Its a highlight of a song that amazing! not the only one but notable in all the notations you could make.

Band-Maid is my favorite band and is at the level of other great bands like Led Zepplin, Rush, Frank Zappa, Robin Trower, Blue Oyster Cult, and NIN. What is unique about Band-Maid is their infusion of different Genres into their songs. Bandmaid is so gooood!!! I love jrock! So so many favourites since teen years, so many good concerts since many artists have toured in Europe too.

Bandmaid are pretty friggin awesome. kinda crushing on the lead guitarist and she uses some serious gear.

The musical talent in Japan is simply amazing. For me, Band-Maid is at the top (seeing them in Dallas) followed by Lovebites, Nemophila, Asterism and Unlucky Morpheus. Continue the Band-Maid journey but don't stop with them. So much great Japan Rock music to discover.

First time watching you..Great Reaction!..Welcome to our world..You are now hooked...You can not resist...It's happened to all of us who watch them once..boom hooked...I'm 57 found them about a year ago and instantly loved their sound..They are all I listen to because they play music the way I want to hear it...best rock/metal/punk band I've ever heard...Do yourself a favor and listen to their live stuff (domination,freedom,play,onset etc)..Remember every new band maid song you hear will become your new favorite..Good luck..Maidiacs Unite!!!
