She's definitely well-known among the K-soloists but since Korean music is so geared heavily towards idol groups internationally, it's hard for soloists that aren't part of groups to break out. her name doesnt mean blood because blood in korean is "pi" not "bi".. blood 피 and rain 비 are two different words, and bibi is spelt 비비 so if her name meant blood it would have to be spelt pipi 피피 instead

as a korean, I don't really resemble blood when I hear Bi. Blood sounds more like Pi and the P ㅍ sound is more stronger, and for Bi, the b ㅂ sound is more clearer, so I guess it could be a rhyme or something but I wouldn't think BiBi has a meaning of blood or smth.

Her name isn’t a play on the word blood. That’s 피 not 비 (rain). Her videos are just simply darker bc she talks about darker subject matter and seems to lean towards film noir cinematography.

Just stopped by in the comments to say that "Blood" and "Rain" are not the same. The word for blood uses a "P" character, and the word for rain uses the "B" character. "Pi" versus "Bi". They can sound similar to untrained ears, but listening to enough Korean will help you learn the subtle difference in pronunciation. Her name also doesn't have a deeper meaning to it.
