This performance of S.O.S. on 'The Singer' was his 1st performance on the show. The show is famous Chinese singers competing & Dimash was asked to compete coming on as a 'wild card' singer and the youngest ever to perform on the show. He is 23 here and from Kazakhstan. He blew everyone away and came in 2nd, mainly because he wasn't Chinese. This performance launched his fame world wide and the formation of his 'Dears' (fans) all over the world. I STRONGLY recommend “Opera 2” - the extended clip where Dimash sees his dad is there. It’s worth the extra minute or so, believe me. It was his second performance on the Singer program, taking on a popular song by the Russian singer Vitas which many in the audience were familiar with. He blew them away with his performance. Dimash is tremendous, but his voice improves with age (and further training). I suggest you follow that progression, to a degree. So, try not to jump to 2019 songs right away, even though they are incredible. Build up to it. I'd suggest starting with Opera 2, one of the few light and fun songs; and then Autumn Strong, which is very emotional. For Autumn Strong, watch the Gloria Wu version with a quick backstory and subtitles. It's vital to understand the story to have the complete experience.

Dimash is the Michelangelo of music! He paints the most beautiful picture with his voice, so full of colour and texture! No one can touch this guy!

Welcome to Dimash world! You haven’t seen anything jet!!! This is about 1/3 or so what he can do! It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him. They dident knew him when he did this one. "The Lions" the band saye he looks like another artist "Terry Lin" and he does they also have simuler voices. Terry did got in that competion during episode 5!!! Dimash nocked everyone with his voice!!! Dimash hade to start the show a was nervous. He was more relaxed the next song "Opera 2"! Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe! He also sings in about 12 languages and speaks 3 so far. He is born in 1994. Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and approved to start his PhD. After many performances, you'll soon realize you can't choose which is his "peak" performance. They're all so good and unique. The other later songs you'll react to will be no less shocking in a different way. People who've been following Dimash for years are still shocked when he brings a new song. Dimash is crazy versatile, sings from the heart & soul, and on top of that, such a humble & kind human being. Amazing! Owh, and btw, I don't think he reached a wistle register here, he can go much higher. You'll really recognize his whistle register when he hits them. Crazy good, pure whistle tone! It's almost not human! But save that for future reactions, ease up with the other ones first :D... Owh, and this wasn't his lowest note either :D ... Though, Dimash dislikes talking about his range, coz there's more to performing than that right? But it's still impressive nonetheless.

Because of dimash over 20 years experience and education, to performing on stage at 5, winning his first piano contest at five, having two music masters, being in his doctorate, playing 9 instruments, singing in 12 languages, having acted in in 3 tv series in three different countries, that dimash did the arrangement, did the cameras and grips angels and where the cameras were at each point of the show, the light affects and colors. The producer told dimash if he did something his way in the song the audience they would not be behind him. Dimash walked out and said nothing. There was a point when the interpretation of the song said why do I laugh why do I cry. At the word cry the camera zoomed in on a man in the audience who was crying. There was a soft point in the melody with extreme vibrato when the camera shows in the monitor back stage with dimash in a side shiloette view with his head tilted up that was a silver screen actor look of Marlina Detreet from the 20’s or 30’s. That was done on purpose. Dimash is 26 now and is doing this stuff in his concerts sometimes collaborating with Igor kurtoy and other writers and producers. You could say you don’t believe he had that power to control all this stuff in a tv show. This was no ordinary tv competition. You couldn’t get on the show without being invited, you had to be a professional singer.. these singers had their own fans. All of them did their own concerts at their own control. Dimash said in an interview after this 2 billion people watched this show. Since there are 3 billion people in China this is very possible. The next morning after this two burly men were at his door when he opened it. He got scared till he found out they were his bodyguards. People were waiting for him. He literally became famous overnight. He was 22 the youngest on the show and a wild card who was Asian but not Chinese and came in second because of the rules. His father advised him not to go to American idol. They sent several recordings before being excepted here. Dimash to the Chinese and the Russians is a favorite son and the treasure from Khazakstan. There are way to many accolades about Dimash and mysteries that unfold about this pitch perfect singer. His over 100 live videos on you tube are each one a surprise as he is full of them and some kind of vocal technique that us and the vocal coaches have never seen. Great honest reaction to SOS. Personally I would suggest Opera 2 as next on the Dimash road. If you are going to switch it up between Dimash vids, I would suggest Disturbed's wonderful cover of The Sound of Silence. Video or Live on Conan. Not sure if you want to follow his career path or not. However, his song Know Vocalise is absolutely stunning and you will see him in a completely new light. You could follow on this song with Opera 2 from The Singer, Adagio, Confessa and the Diva Dance for now. Or just look up the singer and follow the episodes. I would do it for you but I am lazy. Welcome my Dear to Dimash world, there's no going back! Dimash has the voice of an angel, its like magic medicine and I think he can heal the world with his crystal clear notes. He is a humble and genuine young man who brings people together from all over the world with his music. He also does amazing work for charity and helps young people in music school/college in Kazakhstan. He has wonderful stage presence too, standing 6 foot 3 he manages to draw his audience in with his magnetism...and lovely smile. I love all his songs of course but here's a few suggestions...
