Another band who has some lit af rock songs is Muse. Their lead singer Matt Bellamy names Queen as one of his top influences, and he writes the majority of their tunes. Check out their song called Supermassive Black Hole with lyrics, man kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hc2mf8ibndLSYqs.html as well as their songs Psycho, Uprising, Space Dementia, Supremacy and also check out their video for the song Defector kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oeCSedt9s9bLpYE.html sending out some needed messages. I got into their music a few years back and always find something else of theirs that I like. They can def rock the fuck out.

It is a legendary bass line. You can tell that a bass player wrote it. Queen's bass player John Deacon wrote the song. They were all very good songwriters. I read that Queen is the only group where each band member wrote at least one top 10 hit for the group.

@@sherronbrown4482 They're a great band, all of their lineups. But out of their 17 albums John McVie and Mick Fleetwood very rarely received writing credit on songs. I just did a quick count, in the U.S. Fleetwood Mac had 9 top ten hits, Lindsey Buckingham wrote 3 of them, Stevie Nicks wrote 2, Christine McVie wrote 4, although two of Christine's top ten hits were co-written with someone outside Fleetwood Mac. Still they're one of my favorite bands.

This was the beginning of the synthesizer phase of Queen. The soundtrack album of Flash Gordon by Queen (1980) is heavily layered with synthesizer and spawned the number one single Flash. But their most tender ballad is a song called You Take My Breath Away from the album A Day At The Races (1976). The harmonies must be heard to be believed!

Yeah, "Who wants to live Forever" is one of their top songs of the 80s and one of the few of their 80s songs that can win over 70s fans. I remember in the late 80s and early 90s there was a great divide among Queen fans. You had those who loved queen for what they did in the 70s (usually those that grew up with them in the 70s) and then you had the then newer generation young people (growing up in the 80s) who like heir 80s music too. The song "who wants to live forever" was able to kinda bridge both factions which was a rare thing to do (no even Under Pressure with Bowie managed that). Later on, especially after Freddie's death that divide became less pronounced and now both eras of their music garner much respect.

The bassline sounds familiar because of the Original bassline which inspired it. In an interview, the band explained how in the late 70’s/early 80’s they wanted to have a song on the radio (which at that time was ruled by Disco) that wouldn’t make them sound like sell-outs or compromise their famous hard sound. The inspiration? ‘Good Times’ from Chic. Queen loved the iconic bass and groove, and wanted that exact same feel for their own song. So they did a variation on Bernard Edward’s iconic bassline. And THATS why it sounds familiar. Rapper’s Delight samples Chic’s ‘Good Times’ which inspired ‘Another One Bites...’

Watch Freddie dance and prowl when he’s not singing. He’s using the stage, one side to the other and keeping all of the audience involved. The man is so relaxed he doesn’t care. Having to keep his face and jaw relaxed for singing, he’s transferred that to the performance too. When he starts singing, his body language changes and he’s back at work. You really see this in the Live Aid performance.
