You just have to look yourself in the face sometimes" www.tumblr.com/1001galaxygal/752670175944425472?source=share Oldies station is about exactly this, the whole album leads up to that song, and its the emotional climax of the album. in the song he's saying "its not always better, but you push through and one day you'll be old enough to hear your favorite song on the oldies station and when the darkness comes, there will be more reasons to live than die" thats my interpretation anyways and its why its my favorite song on the album

I would be ecstatic if we got another album, my guess is that instead of that, we’ll get an extended version of paladin strait when the music video drops that really ends the story, but I’d love to be wrong and we get another full album

When I recorded this, the single version wasn't out yet, i'm happy to report I like that one! The album version just doesn't have a lot instrumentally to make me want to return to it outside of a full album listen

That’s a good thing! One thing I love about this band is that they always have something for everybody, even if a song isn’t my vibe I know that another fan is going to like it! :)

@@levithemassivelyrically snap back is up there for me, i think that is what redeemed the song. i dont think it is about the scaled and icy - for example when he talks abt "its a backslide" or "running from a thing i kicked in 17" talking about his struggle with depression or some sort of addiction, if you look at the music video and the song from the perspective its actually very beautiful, especially with the similar messages on songs like, oldies station, next semester, and backslide
