This isn't the first Republic Day parade but pertains to 1955 when Malik Ghulam Mohammed, Governor General of Pakistan was the Chief guest.

Jawaharlal had self promoted himself by suppressing all national leaders of freedom movement in media, history etc. as though he is the one who fought for independence of India e.g. Vallabh Bhai Patel, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, Rajaji, Acharya Kripalani, Goinda Ballabha Pant and so on were banished by Nehru.

What are you talking about? Patel was Nehru's deputy, Bose died in an air crash, Rajaji was the Governor General, Pant was UP CM and later Union Home Minister. Nehru by virtue of his personality and achievements towered over all of them.

@@Kalaswalia During Patel was alive Nehru did not listen his advice on Kashmir and crucial matters of infant India. Rajaji was not allowed to be the first President of India. Normally when the country becomes Republic the incumbent GG will be the first President of the Republic. This was happened in number of Commonwealth countries. Since Rajaji is NOT a Yes man, Nehru stopped his career abruptly. Rajendra Babu too had frictional ralationship with Nehru. Netaji's death was not properly probed. Nehru systematically curtailed Bose's name in public arena. GB Pant, Jayaprakash Narayan, J.B. Kripalani and other notable leaders were sidelined by Nehru for vested interest. After Nehru, his daughter followed the same. She too insulted her aunt Vijayalakshmi Pandit, a leading figure in UN, US,UK and foreign affairs and other eminent leaders like Kamaraj, Morarji, SK Patil, Nijalingappa and so on.
