he can shoot and he plays D whats not to like? nobody know if hes not playing this year. we gon find that out when he hits training camp and if he got that dog in him. sometimes football teams go 5 wide receivers. why couldnt the knicks go out there and spread the floor 5 deep and just keep hitting shots?

Kid articulates well and sounds mature. Reason Knicks bought him in for couple of days to try him out and probably saw something no one else saw. Coaching staff probably came away interested. Inexpensive pick as backup and does not break Knicks bank. He is very eager, excited and enthuse. Could be a Garden fav in future

Young man will need to be patient. Thibs respect is earned throuh work and practice. Thibs regardless of his reputation does a pretty solid job developing young players. IQ and recently Deuce come to mind. Im expecting the same for the rookie.

He's 18. Very young. Not the usual knicks approach to take a very young guy later in the draft. I guess with him wanting to stay in New York that the plan will be to develop him in the G-league heavy.

It’s a very smart move. This kid won’t be ready to play for couple of years and developing through the current team and players. And in those couple of years is when the team will need him more as Knicks contracts end and players get older. Same as what the Warriors did/doing with Kuminga.

When I heard the Knicks were drafting a Frenchman I got nervous because they don't have a very good track record with French players (Frank Ntilikina and Frédéric Weis). But after hearing Pacome talk I can see he has that swagger and confidence. I just hope the Knicks bring him over next year because that's another thing they have trouble with.

Put him on now. A great player that can spread the floor. Teams wait to long to play rookies with starters knowing that this is the best way to build up your rookie confidence. If you can shoot you can play.

I like the pick. He's a project but he has the athleticism and a nice approach to the game. Just 18 -- 19 when the season starts so he has time to learn.

Well Pacome I hope you like Westchester. 😂 I was expecting him to say he would stay in Europe but a little surprised he plans to stay in the USA. The knicks have no roster spot for you. I think it's a better move for him to stay in Europe one more year also it would help our cap situation a bit.

I am shocked at how good his English is for 18, he barely has an accent born and raised in France, it says he was born in France but if I didn't know I would think he was raised in the U.S.

Unless you have the top 5 picks, anywhere lower than those then picking European players is a good strategy. They played more professional games over there at a young age, they are better trained in fundamentals and team work. They will be easier to assimilate to any team's philosophy and style of play. Knicks made 3 good draft choices with promising talents, plus they free up some money for signing iHart, I hope he will be back. Knicks also pick up a bunch of 2nd round picks, there were plenty Hall of Famers who were 2nd round picks throughout NBA history.
