My philosophy for camping, pack like a backpacker, even if it’s motorcycle/scooter/car/bicycle camping. Even on my last scooter camping trip, I felt I packed too much. Don’t overthink your camper build, or your’ll turn your Land Rover into a storage shed. 😘✌️🇺🇸🇬🇧👏👏👏

I agree. There is actually no need to 'build' the inside of a 4WD or SUV. Simply chuck a decent mat inside, some plastic storage boxes and you're sorted. This enables you to simply and quickly revert it back to a normal vehicle within minutes. There is also definitely no need for a diesel heater nor to add insulation. Most vehicles already have good felt insulation, and the confined space gets far too warm very quickly using a diesel heater, plus the danger of fumes. All that is needed is decent extra clothing during winter and you'll stay cozy and warm in the coldest of weather, even with all four windows slightly open 24/7 for fresh circulation of air.

Hello Becky, One life, live it.👍👌 One tip wring out the wet clothes, and put them on your thermarest, and under the sleeping bag. this way they can dry overnight. Good luck with your trips.👍🔥

You are exactly correct. Take care of them and the Land Rover will provide years of service. Some of the best Rovers I've worked on here in the states have been Disco 2's. Excellent choice!

Becky, congratulations on purchasing your Land Rover. As for explorer Percy Fawcett, he has been compared to Indiana Jones. He disappeared in 1925 in my country, Brazil, on an expedition looking for a lost city. I hope 2023 brings youwonderful adventures with your Land Rover, but please don't disappear.😁

Hi Becky, your channel caught my eye because of the Discovery. Don't worry about what anyone says, these are really reliable 4x4's and the Td5 engine is one of the best. I have 2 disco's, a series 1 from 1993 which I am restoring and my 2000 Td5 disco 2. neither has ever let me down. keep serviced and don't forget the centrifugal oil filter on top of the engine. with care and maintenance it should last you years. keep an eye on the chassis though - disco 2's are prone to rust, but are easily repairable with a ready supply of parts. when you can, try and get a nanocom diagnostic tool. expensive but worth it if you get problems. Good luck with the conversion I'm following with avid interest! 🥰🥰🚙🚙

I used to camp out in a Renault Espace with all the seats taken out..plenty of room. I made cardboard cut outs which I Blu Taked to the windows to afford some privacy. Bill

These Discovery's are great imo. Better value and with more comfort and arguably when off-road more capable than a defender 90/110! I grew up on the South coast - Brighton, had several vw campers but a LR Disco tops my wanted list now. Keep posting!! 🙂

How I really envy you Becky with your Landrover. This I should have done in my past with my old Range Rover whilst living in the Highlands. Been over the Hardknott pass and wyrose pass many times over the years and lots of times in old bangers only just fit enough for flat roads so you can imagine the excitement going up and down . Hope Percy gives you great pleasure on your adventures .

Great video :) I lived in my disco for 3 months over winter many years ago with a very minimalist set up like you and its up there in my memories tough times but an experience. Great simple video and to me the lakes have more atmosphere when the weathers bad :)

Well done! This reminded me of the first time I drove up into the Rocky Mountain National Park. Just getting to the entrance - I was so nervous that my shirt was soaked in sweat. Not long after, two of my daughters moved to Colorado for university, and I became more accustomed to driving up and down steep passes. Trail Ridge Road (in the park) tops out at over 3500M. I can now drive over that pass with hardly any nervousness. The last time I was there, I was so proud of myself when I looked out the window and saw an old guy descending the entire length on a bicycle!
