An interesting thing about this story is the reporter gave the texts to ESPN way back in 2017. ESPN could've released them right away. But Porter was a nobody back then. So ESPN kept the texts on the chance that Porter would one day become someone powerful and worthy of destroying.

If anything, star players should want to come to the Mets, more so now. This is a new regime under Cohen. The Wilpons would've sat on this for days before making a decision. Everyone in my industry is shocked they let this guy buy a team so close to the Astro's scandal since Cohen basically ran the Astros of hedge funds and got banned from the industry for a few years as part of his plea deal.
