The question doesn't ask recent history SA it's asking about the entire history of the NBA in that case yes the Celtics have more titles and more head to head wins in the finals they have more hardware in their trophy case then the Lakers

How did the Celtics have more titles if their tied and it’s not like the recent history is 4-5 years the Celtics have 1 ring in almost the past 40 years where the lakers won in almost every decade and even when they didn’t win they got to the finals every decade

Stephen A Smith literally said "he is leaning on history and that's his right"...........the question is literally what is the best franchise of all time, that INCLUDES the history!!!! Also Showtime Lakers with Kobe was a bust. After 2010 , he won nothing and the Bubble Championship does not count as no one with any Basketball pedigree counts that championship
