After 45 years of esoteric and occult work, here is a personal and informal introduction for absolute beginners in western esotericism for the first ten steps in your study and work of occult practices and occultism.

Great basic guidelines even for those of us who are not into the fine academic details of Correspondences. Dedication devotion, repetition are what help connect to the energies of the universe as well as keep us Safe in their application.

Yes I think people need to be able to work out why they would want to be an occultist. Is there any way of finding that out ....I'm 66 and always had an interest in the occult ..put of by the church ..I like the lesser vanishing ritual and the rose cross ..so how do you know if you have done these symbols properly. Could you answer ....thanks Regards..fi

Hi Fi, thanks for asking. The best approach is to experiment for a fixed amount of time, usually one year, and review your progress and response during that time. That's why I offer the Crucible Club for those interested, it's a safe start to the most important experiences of the Western Esoteric Initiatory System. When first practising the rituals, some people get immediate feelings or events, and some people don't sense anything for quite some time. A general feeling of powerful well-being and balance is one of the surest indicators of success. Hope that clarifies, thanks for asking! Marcus.

Are there any books on magic that can help attract romantic love into my life? I’m male (looking to attract a woman), if that matters.

There are definitely 'spells' and 'workings' that will increase the opportunities for meeting someone who could be a romantic interest and have such interest in you. However, long experience has demonstrated that the better work is on oneself to make yourself a person with the qualities that are also great qualities for a relationship - or all relationships. Knowing yourself better, working with your psychological mechanisms, health (physical and mental), improving communication skills, etc., are all part of the work. The truer you can be to yourself in totality, and your relationship and role in the universe, the more you will be ready for personal relationship - and that will emerge in your life. Magic can focus and encourage that, but it cannot - or should never - be used to get others to love you. Hope that assists! Marcus.

@@MarcusKatzAuthor I’m looking for exactly what you just said said; spells and workings that can increase the probability of meeting someone that could turn into romantic interest. Believe me when I say I’m not looking for anything that would infringe on someone’s will; nor am I trying to attract a particular person. I’m simply looking to encourage - absolutely not to force. Could you give me a list of reading material for this purpose?

@@101jackj I'd suggest a combination of Inner Guide Meditation work and then either candle magick or sigils - or tarot magick - for a beginner in techniques. But these are to be used with caution as it is possible to become a bit destabilised by magical work. Unfortunately there isn't a simple or single book I could recommend for what you are after, in the way I teach it, as I teach a different sort of approach. There are classes in practical magick in our www.magickaschool.com site, so perhaps that might assist?
