There have been fictional movies on this subject, 'The killing fields' is a renowned 1984 movie based on the struggles of the Cambodian people. Haing S. Ngor, one of the victims of the regime played a key role in the movie and even won the best supporting actor Oscar for his performance. It's not that people are unaware of what happened in Cambodia, it's just that like many other countries we are too fixated on our own history. I remember when I was in school, for 3 years we studied Indian independence...The same chapters, the same story, the same characters repeated for THREE years and then nothing after that, the cold war, Vietnam, Korea crisis, the various civil wars in Africa, the space race, etc. everything ignored. So that should tell you what importance we give to history in our country.

it sucks I never learned about The Bengal famine in history books. It was my economics teacher who gave the example of Bengal famine while giving an example of low food security in India. I was in 9th where we learned about French Revolution and Russian revolution etc where the black truth of our own nation was hidden from us. I sincerly thank my Economics teacher who made me realise about my nation's past whereas The history books are still stuck on Hitler French Revolution etc I AM ASHAMED OF MY EDUCATION SYSTEM

That's what Leiberalism is, we might not agree with each other's views, but we must respect them and peoples freedom to hold their own ideals.
