Sometimes it’s just fun to see who the artists really are. They used to play the bar circuit and one night a patron of the bar yelled at them, “Play that funky music white boy””. And an iconic song was born! Thanks for a great reaction!

LOL one of the best FUNKY songs of that era. So much fun seeing them perform it. This is a different video that I have seen of them doing this song. I think an earlier video was more fun. Still a great song. ♥

This is the song that turned me into a rockin' girl. My dad only let me listen to country stations, actually forbid me to listen to the pop/rock/disco station. I turned the channel over to WBBQ and this song was on... and a rebel was born! I love ALL music.

I'd like to introduce you to another country music band, if interested "Brooks & Dunn - Red Dirt Road (Official Video)" this duo consists of Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn, both of whom are vocalists and songwriters. The duo was founded in 1990. But they both had very successful careers prior to becoming Brooks & Dunn. They have a lot of incredible songs🔥💖🤗

Hey Greg, I love your reactions to some good ass music from back in the day! The 70's were Thee BEST times... All around! Anyway, you liked how he talked the story on "Mama Told Me Not To Come" and a little bit on " Play that Funky Music". Both of them far out man and groovy✌🏼 So I bring you to the point. I suggest another song with the same kind of vibes. It's called "Spill the Wine" by Eric Burden and it's crazy wild so you have to check it out then let me know when you did and I'll be looking for your reaction. Call Me Mama Kin😎

I don't even remember how long these guys stayed together. This is the only song I know from them. I did see a video recently of him doing it now and he can still rock it. Have you done Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Haram yet? English band from the 60s but if you look it up, do the 2006 live version. I think it's in Denmark. It's one of the greatest songs of the 60s. You'll like it! Still loving your reactions. Glad to see you enjoying the music so much.

These guys were basically a One Hit Wonder with this hit!🎼They're from an area about an hr from me (Steubenville, OH), & even though they'll never be inducted into the Rock Hall....they have a pretty cool exhibit there🎸! Also, that 2006 Whiter Shade of Pale performance is phenomenal🎼! RIP Gary Brooker...who passed away in Feb😓.

@@kthor Wow, I didn't know Gary died. Never heard a thing about it.. How old was he when he passed? Do you know? I'm 73 so he must have been that old at least. RIP. That was one of my favorite songs when it came out and the 2006 performance sealed it for me. I heard somewhere it was Bob Dylan's favorite too. Don't know if that's true or just internet rumor.

Too bad the audio sucked so bad though.... I still gave a thumbs up though, because I'm a fan of yours. I couldn't watch all the way through though. Sorry. Your own personal audio in it was fine though. I subscribed to you, so I know your song audio isn't always bad, or I wouldn't have subscribed. So I don't know what was different about this one, but I hope whatever it was, doesn't continue.

The Midnight Special video is better. They have two black guys playing the trumpet and sax dancing and pointing at the lead singer through the verse. So funny! It just goes to show that back in the seventies there was less regard for color and more importance for just good music. How far we have regressed is sad.
