You still haven’t heard them, those were other people singing on the record, India you probably weren’t born yet but it was a huge scandal at the time when it was discovered, I believe they’re the only artists that had returned their Grammy award they won for their debut album! Too long to get into here, it was a great album just wish it was actually them singing on it.

The even MORE sad thing is that Rob (the gorgeous blue eyed beauty) Pilatus ended up getting hooked on drugs and committed suicide because he couldn't handle the scandal.

I remember my friend and I were devastated by the scandal because we loved these guys so much. I admit, I still love the songs regardless. The same thing happened with C&C Music Factory, a pretty big group in the late 80's and early 90's. Turns out the cute little model in the band wasn't singing. It was Martha Wash. Worst is the album went out before the even knew their tracks wouldn't be used. Could you imagine hearing your song for the first time and it's some other dude's voice ? -- Sad story.

IN spite of all the controversy, this was an awesome album. They should have given the Grammy to the people who actually recorded it, because they did a great job...but I understand why they didn't. Still...It was one hell of a pop record, IMO.

"Are they brothers?" BROTHERS IN DECEIT! Seriously though: the studios execs who committed this scam are the ones to be held responsible for using Rob and Fab and then throwing them under the bus. They didn't deserve the hatred they received after the scam was revealed.

They were two very likable men. The record company took two street dancers and used them. They are responsible for Rob Pilatus death IMO. RIP Rob.

And, they STILL deflect blame for the mess they created...also, driving the horrible suicide of one half of MV. I was never a fan of their material, but I do gotta say a few really good Pop songs came out of it.

The story of Milli Vanilli is a sad story, in hinsight. The two boys in the video were not the singers. They were hired as fronts because of their looks, their charm and their dancing abilities. They were young and said yes to an opportunity without realising the consequences. When the world found out, the backlash was enormous and lasts till this day (all videos on KZfaq of this band still discusses this scandal, almost 30 years later). It led to the fall of one of them, spiraling into drugs until he died of an overdose (the young man with the blue eyes in the red jacket). It started as a fault of greedy executives and young, naive minds and ended up as a tragedy.

Oh my, yes!! When that song was a hit I was stuck at a hideous job with a cranky boss who constantly kept my stomach in knots. "Blame It on the Rain" would come on the radio and the tune was sooo soothing, it just relaxed me and made me feel better every time I heard it.

@Lisa Lynn 1989-90 they were a thing until that lypsinc screw up. But these 2 boys were the face of this band. 1991 the real singers took the stage guess what happened? It all went to shit for the whole band especially the real singers. One committed suicide because of this. BUT the original fans are still around. The voices and the faces is what makes the orginal Milli Vanilli. If you were not around to see it yourself prior to the lypsinc screwup, you can't understand.

I seen them in concert in Milwaukee, man they could move. I don’t care if they were lip syncing. They were young and vulnerable. The guy in the red his name is Rob he committed suicide several years after the scandal and they had to return their Grammys for best new artists. They were very entertaining

We were crushing on these boy's in the 90's! Loved their songs! Yes there was a scandal about them not singing the songs but the truth is they could sing but they wouldn't let them! They wanted their looks but wanted these other singers to sing not them. The whole thing was their managers fault. Fab is still singing this song and is just as handsome 💖🤗

Milli Vanilli became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with millions of records sold. However, their success turned to infamy when it was found out that Morvan and Pilatus did not sing any of the vocals heard on their music releases. The duo ended up giving back the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. The group recorded a comeback album in 1998 titled Back and in Attack, but the album's release was cancelled after Rob Pilatus died at the age of 32.... they got busted because the record started skipping on them. it was all over MTV back then, that was back when MTV was really Music tv, don't know what it is now.

Yeah Rob (RIP) and Fab were dancers who Frank Farian, German producer discovered in a club in Munich during the 80s. He took them as lip-synced "singers" for Milli Vanilli. The "Real Milli Vanilli" came out later presenting the real voices of the songs. BTW the songs were great anyway. Today nobody would care.

This was amazing and Blame it on the rain the best! The light skinned one battled addiction and mental health and took his own life, the dark skinned one had his own struggles but still performs as himself today.
