Grew up fishing Lake Ontario. Great place, great people, great fishing. Fall salmon and brown trout in the lake. Steelhead in the rivers. A sportsman paradise!

Western New York State is an amazing fresh water fishing paradise. Henderson Harbor, 1000 Islands, the Finger Lakes region, and all the tributaries to Lake Ontario. Nothing like it anywhere.

Congrats on the smallie. I see some people hating but those trout and walleye are our best fish up north. I would put walleye up with some of the best tasting salt water fish.

That boat on the freeway was probably a walleye rig for lake Erie or lake Ontario. Lake Erie gold is just around the corner. This time out of Sandusky Ohio is prime for walleye and perch plus you can catch a ride on a coaster at cedar point. Good times!!❤

It’s a little late for tips but #1 Syracuse airport sucks and #2 next time you’re there hit up Oneida Lake. The best fishing in the whole state and it’s about 20 minutes from the airport.

Welcome to my world. I have fished that area of NY state several times, but most of the time I go just over the border into Canada (looks pretty much the same, lots of dairy farms, corn fields, and lakes). Pound for pound, a smallie fights just as hard as a blackfin.

two things you need to pick up while you are there and you can get it in any store up there... A ring of Croghan Bologna and a bag of Salt Potatoes... If you drive to croghan ny to pick the bologna up from where they smoke it Dont forget their Cheese Curds...

My old stomping grounds. Well, mostly mine were a few hours east in the Saranac area. If you stayed on Route 3 for a few hours you would drive by my house where I grew up. My in-laws were/are all over that area though and I was stationed in that area for the Air Force too. Next time get a little more east into the mountains and get some trout fishing in too if you can. Beautiful streams and rivers with some really nice brown and brook trout. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Oh yeah, and the deer there are much bigger than our deer here in FL. LOL!

That's why I'll take saltwater fishing over fresh any day all day. I no longer fish in Shittinois 😡 For now it's FL and Antigua 👊 Saltwater fish taste much better than fresh generally. You got that right, Dan would've bagged and tagged them rockfish already 😆😂 Lol KZfaq will get you one day..... the bigger the rock, the bigger the.... 🤣 Cheers 🥃🌴
