The giant flag is unique to this consert, but Joakim often borrows a flag from the audience, if he sees the right flag for a song near the front (sometimes he puts it on like a cape). He also wears (for minute or two) a lot of scarves, shirts, hats etc. that the audience throws on the stage. Some of those are country specific and some might be pink/hello kitty/funny things. They have also used flags like Joakim is waving around here (I think that one is actually the flag for the Polish Sabaton fan club, called the "Polish Panzer Battalion")

Thanks for reacting to this video with 40:1, a song of Sabaton so dear to any Polish fan :-) Last Tuesday I was at their concert in Cracow, Poland. :-) Before performing this song, Joakim said that he liked 40:1 song for a very long time but they hadn't played it very often lately. He had written it in 2008 but last they were playing it in 2019. I love this song and other 50 ones!!!

If you let the video play just a tiny bit more, the majority Polish audience came together (with a prompting from a stagehand) to simultaneously sing the Polish national anthem. Addon: A different comment from a different video says it best. Their songs make you feel patriotic for a country you never were a citizen of.

Short history: During the second world war when Belgium was invaded there was a small unit called the chasseurs de adenner held Erwin Rommels Ghost Division for an entire day with only 40 men. When they surrendered, The Germans asked where the rest of their unit was and they simply laughed at them and said “We were all” Fun fact: This was the ONLY time in a 30 year career spanning both World Wars that Rommel requested Emergency Reinforcements. I don't know how much you know about Sabaton, so here's some information; Sabaton is a Swedish Power Metal band from Falun, which was formed in 1999. The band's songs are inspired by various historical wars. Even the band name is military inspired, as Sabaton is also the name of the part of the armor that covers the foot. If you want to know more about the stories behind many of the songs, Sabaton actually has a KZfaq called: Sabaton History. kzfaq.info?search_query=sabaton+history Sabaton has the help of, if I remember correctly, 3 historians who are looking for interesting war stories, as well as from all the fans who can come up with suggestions about oliak war stories, so they check if it is interesting to make songs about and record history episodes.

This song has become the theme for the stand against Russia by Ukraine. Which, considering how many weapons, planes, and tanks Poland has sent Ukraine, would make it fitting. It's as if Poland is saying "We've been through this before, here, let's help you out. No one helped us then, but we've got you covered."

At some point you need to watch one of the live version of Primo Victoria. It's the title track of their first album, and tells the story of D-Day. It's such a good song, and is one of the first that comes to mind when I think of Sabaton.

Sadly, the huge Polish flag has nothing to do with Sabaton ;) it is rolled out (probably) every year during this festival. Not sure if it's just for the headline act, 'cause I've seen videos and photos of it beeing rolled out when it's still daylight.
