I have a friend who fought in Desert Storm and he is black. He told me that the battlefield was the least racist place he has ever experienced. He said they all knew there lives were on the line, and all of the race shit was gone because everybody had everybody else's back. Maybe everyones experience in combat is different.

@@Camking757 sooo...nobody had each other's back depending on what race they were? Would they let a black man die before an enemy because the enemy could've been lighter skinned? Or is it just that it was the most *verbally* racist place of all? I ask becasue the difference is HUGE in both moral and physical consequences.

“Sold my soul to the devil in LA” is definitely a metaphor. Virtually ALL musicians when they sign a contract, sign away their lives. The label now controls them. Tells them where to go, who to talk to, what to wear, and even what to write. Until they become mega famous and their contract expires, they are basically at the mercy of the label. Look at artists from the 30’s through the 60’s. Many of them were paid very little for their talent, yet were expected to grind out show after show after show. Nowadays it’s not as bad, but initially it can be a living hell.

Yessir. If you don't believe in God and the Devil don't exist (doesn't matter 2 cents what we think) then these fine folk are probably right in their logic. However, if God and the Devil do exist this video is completely useless. If you sold your soul the Devil doesn't care what you metaphorically thought. The good news is Jesus' blood overrides everything.

We have a history, that history includes slavery. But we over came that and we are stronger for it. We come from different back grounds but we are bonded together as Americans. Fill your heart with patriotism and racism will have no place to exist. We all have to learn to forgive one another, to love one another & to fight for one another!! This is the America I love!! He put that second verse together so well alot of people miss the fact that he said the "devil" told him to sign first then after he signed the contract then he wanted to change everything about him. I think this was aaron lewis way of saying he never wanted to make rock/pop music but the had him under contract now so he had to change

Great reaction. The reason I’m proud to call myself an American is what America represents. It hasn’t always lived up to its own identity with its history, but to me, it represents Freedom for ALL people. I want everyone to live however they want, and I see America as the closest Country in the world that allows that.

The real message isn’t that he’s “country” but that he’s a country boy as in the country of the USA and that he stand behind the freedom and rights for all and treated with equality. Another good song of his is Am I the Only One. More up to date with current situations in the US and across the world

I love anyone who fought for this country. I don't care race. What he sings about, he doesn't exclude you. You are a part of what he sings about if you love this country. Are you black? Who cares? Are you white? Who cares? Are you Asian? Who cares? You are critical to our society as long as you want to contribute to it. That's what the song's message is.

I agree with you, I think it is a metaphor for I sold my music, my image, control over what music I do, my name, basically everything I am to be able to be a musician because that was the way it used to have to be. You couldn't do the Tom Macdonald, Jelly Roll, thing even 20-25 years ago. Like Tech9 pulled it off, but it was a struggle for a long time, and even now the record labels still own the radio, and many other forms of distribution, and if you don't sign away everything you are, you don't make it.

I recommend you listen to Thomas Sowell's writing He's a black college professor. They will change the history books. I've had black friends when I lived in Georgia That their ancestors fault in the Civil War as Confederate soldiers There were multiple regiments of black Confederate soldiers in the hundreds.. I've seen the pictures I've seen the diaries and the letters that their ancestors wrote their wives. Me and my friend took that big plastic tub from Walmart full of those documents to school. Our teacher got mad at us and we got suspended. We got suspended because it was against the narrative we've been lied to for decades.

The Smashing Pumpkins has a line in their contract that said the record company own their likeness through out the universe, and any new universe discovered. That's a real thing that happened. In a contract given to 23 year olds. They are most definitely the devil. Metaphysically. The singer talked about sitting in meetings and people referred to his art as the product. I miss him in Staind. He got me through alot back in the day. One of my favorite concerts. With the industry I think you're partially right but I do believe once you go deeper in though there is "illuminati or secret societies" that do participate in occult rituals/sacrifices. Just look at some of the symbolism. I dont think everyone gets that opportunity though. If you look into things and go down some rabbit holes its nearly undeniable.. notice the ones that speak out on the industry end up soon after get arrested and have negative headlines just trying to destroy them. DMX is a great example of this. They tried to destroy that man.. and he was at one time the #1 artist His first 4 albums went platinum and he kept Def Jam alive at one point. He started speaking out about the industry heavy. He even did the live performance called "The Industry" m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rtmdetWKqbLUdoE.html Should react to it.

This country and changed dramatically during Vietnam. Great division among the American people. The democrats wanted that war to continue, because use their chosen ones were making a great big bunch of money. If you wanted ice over there the Lady Bird Johnson owned nearly all the facilities that could produce ice. People in combat units had to rely on one another. No matter what color. I had a black drill seargent in basic. He made it clear that the only color he saw and we should see is OD Green. When I return from Vietnam thats all I saw was OD Green. Twist of fate I was restationed back to my basic training camp. Wife and I decide to join the base bowling league. We were told mixed leagues (2 males and two females) were available. He said another couple were in the bar looking for someone to bowl with. I recognized him immediately. It was my drill Sargent and his wife. I thanked him for the skills he taught me that kept me alive. We became fast friend. He didn't see me as a white country boy, nor did we see them as black. We saw them as friends, and friendship has no color.

In the music industry selling ur soul is like when u sign to a label who controls what music u can put out. When an artist can't make the music that makes them happy they've sold their soul. Their music creativity is taken away. I've had two labels try to get me to sign and I won't let any label take my rights to my own music creativity. So I make my music at home in my house

Not just ancestors. I have four cousins, my age, in their 20's and 30's, that have been fighting for this country since they were 18, as well as an uncle who is still in the military. We are hispanic, Native American and white, and I've never heard one racist word come out of their mouths my entire life. There are SO many reasons to be proud to be American. Not one single American has risked their lives swimming and hopping borders to get to other countries. It just doesn't happen. But, every other country has people risking their lives everyday to get here. Why? Because they want to be FREE. They want the freedom to do exactly as you just did by making this video. The 1st amendment. 1st and 2nd, actually, are the two most important, not only to patriotic Americans, but to other nationalities as well. Obviously we are human and nothing will ever be perfect. We have a long wat to go still, but we are the best country in the world. I stand by that until my last breath.

Facts I like that. You know when I think about it there is no pour race. Everyone is mixed. I have a bit of native American in me. I agree with you 💯.

@@Camking757 I think that's what a lot of people don't understand, that we are all mixed. We need to all come together as one. There is so much division in our country right now and it breaks my heart. United we stand. If we all fight each other, the REAL enemy continues to get away with whatever sick agenda they have up their sleeves today. The government doesn't want us united, because we are a threat to them that way, so they keep us all divided through the media with lies. Breaks my heart. Love your channel, btw. 👍🌻 Glad I found it.

Been awhile Alyssa country theme rock song it had a country elements but it was technically a rock song but it was in a rock band but Aaron Lewis grew up in the country he's always been country at heart he said in an interview that he knew he was going to do country one day when he went solo and when he went solo he went country so he's just going by what he said he was going to do but I would say I've Been Awhile does sound like country but it's not same way Old Town road wss a-based rap song lol. It didn't have any country music or elements so that's why I got took off the chart Upchurch says it best when he was talking about Old Town Road you can write a song about anything you want but you still have to put the song where they go

The past is the past. Both sides have done wrong. All we can do is make America the best it can be now and protect the freedoms which we have now for the future generations!
