Rob Zombie took a big stand for Babymetal during the time when they got hated on by Metal "Elitists" which said things like, it is a disgrace to metal or it is shameful etc etc when he posed with them...He said to one of the haters "Those three girls had more energy than 90% of the bands we play with" and yes he is absolutely right!

Great reaction. At the risk of repeating things you have probably already been told, this was at the Saitama Super Arena in January 2015 with a crowd of over 20,000 and every one of them completely under the control of three 5 feet nothing girls - Su was only just 17, Yui and Moa still only 15. If you want to see BABYMETAL actually being supported by DragonForce and playing this song - just look for the video from the Metal Hammer Awards show in London in 2015 where that really did happen. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song and played on the studio recording for the album version. This was the Kami Band's interpretation of the instrumentals. The song is about forging your own road, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been explored you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Their most recent UK tour was in February 2020 - they played Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester and the Hammersmith Apollo in London. That was where I saw them - and in 2019 I saw them in Brixton, London. I have been to so many concerts over the years and seen some truly great bands ... those two BABYMETAL concerts are at numbers 1 and 3 in my favourite ever concerts (Anthrax supported by Metal Church just manages to remain in second place, it was a real fun concert, but Led Zep, Queen, Megadeth and so many more got displaced). I'm looking forward to whatever you watch next time - I think you will be impressed and surprised all over again whatever it is. You already have a lot of good suggestions - I second all of them.

To answer your questions: The girls had difficult to learn the metal horn sign so they made the "Foxsign" It is a "half alpacka sign" in sign language. They don't make the real sign for fox though. When the girls couldn't get an answer they said "only the Fox God knows" in interviews. So they made a cool history about the thing. If You see newer concerts they always have fox heads on the stage.. so therefore the "foxhole". In japan they have the Oji Fox-day and You can get nerdier about the Megitsune (Great song from BM by the way) and Kitsune. So in short : Foxes has been aroung Babymetal almost from the beginning. If I have been fluently in English I can wrote more, I'm lacking a bit but in English. Ohh Those you see in this video is Su, Moa and Yui-metal. Yui-metal left the band 2018? due health problems and they until now had 3 dancers revolving replacing Yui. The band is on hiatus as the awesome band Lovebites and there is lots of gossip what will happen when they come back. Lovebites is seeking for a new bassplayer.. that we know... so... welcome to the wonderful world of Japanese hardrock/metal/punk. There are tons of great bands to discover! My self living in Sweden has become a nerd on Japanese music the last couple of years.... and it is a journey that is awesome!

@@GOTGames You haven't done a video with their current set-up yet, but they shipped the set from the Pa Pa Ya! video to LA for the sold out LA Forum show. The dance floor is elevated and on tracks and can move out into the audience. It also, of course, is covered with video screens and shoots fire. It's also the small one. When you get to the Trilogy of Light (a series of songs that talks about the departure of Yui and the death of their guitarist Mikio...they've matured) the entire middle of the stage detaches and moves out into the audience. Then there is the Budokan birthday cake set from last year, check out "In the name of..." to see that in action.

I think in some way the power of the music combined with the projected emotion of the singing, added together with these innocent looking girls just out busting thier asses to entertain creates a kind of purity that we dont see that often and is missing the cynicism of our current world. ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - Pretty much a master class in audience control. BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like a single genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song. You can definitely feel the speed metal component in this one though. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce provided guitar tracks for the studio version. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January of 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto first appeared at SSA in 2008 as a member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL. Guitarists for this January 2015 concert were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama.

This is how I felt, the 1st time I heard this song too. However, this song, is the one that made me shed tear or `100! *babymetal ijime dame sonisphere festival uk 2014* They were girls between 14-16, all their songs had backing tracks, they sang not in English (the only other metal band that could get away with it recently was Rammstein). The backing band was made up of session musicians. The girls were singing about chocolate, and they were playing hide and seek on the stage, literally. They already had their own made up religion about the Fox God, and their hand sign was mocking the devil's horns. - This was NOT metal at all. They were nobodies and they didn't belong on the main stage of a metal festival. But, they knew it well, and they expected to get booed and bottled. There's a backstage photo of the girls before the show and their faces read "WE ARE F*CKED" And they went on the stage and Yui's hoodie got stuck in her hair, Moa's headset did not work and she missed the opening moves of the choreo. There was a close up of Yui's face on the projector screen at this moment, she saw what was happening, and for a moment her expression was like "ok, forget it, NOW we are f*cked..."

Su was only just 17 years ( december ) and Yui and Moa 15 years old 16 in june and july later that year a 20.000 + Sold out show . They had kept this energy up for around hour and half . You asked where you the only one felt that way . My answer is no i feel like you felt every single time i watch this performance as many others will say the same . I tear up to this and get goosebumps to this many other songs by BabyMetal. I have seen this song live twice but at smaller venues in UK Brixton Academy and The Apollo. Surrgest you watch there first apprence at a Metal Festival outside Asia. Sonisphere in the UK 2014 . See what happens when 60.000 British metalheads 95% did not have a clue who they where and some of the 5% had threatened to boo them and throw bottles of urine at them as they where considered not metal and a gimmick. . Its there last song in a five song set "Ijime Dame Zettai" . They where Su 16 and Yui and Moa just recently 15 years old at time of this performance . Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This song is very special for UK, your country and BABYMETAL's second home. It was premiered at the Brixton, London on Nov.8, 2014. The UK audiences quickly adjusted and started "wow wow" chant to Su-Metal's direction notwithstanding that no one in the world had listened to this song before. Japanese fans appreciated the mates in UK but felt a little bit jealous of them because the premiere of this anthemic song was not done in their homeland. In your video, Su shouted some words 11:02 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then. Last year (2021), on the final day (April 15) of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concerts, Su shouted the same words in the end-all of the show. She did it smilingly with matured, mild and friendly voice. It meant, I believe, "come on guys!" The audience smiled her back. I was there at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿

@@michelm.6033 I am OK for general question about Japanese language even with no relation to BM. Actually I am glad to know that you are interested in our language. Your question is difficult to answer, but I will try. The words you mentioned are broken into syllables like this "Uru → U-Ru う・る", "Akatsuki → A-Ka-Tsu-Ki あ・か・つ・き", "Suzuka → Su-Zu-Ka す・ず・か". So answer to your question is : Yes. These syllables [ Ru, Tsu, Su, Zu ] ending with letter "u" have the common sound together with consonants. The common sound of "U" is similar to the first sound of English word "oops". (vowel sound made by projected and rounded lips). Actually "U" is the one of 5 vowels we use "A - I - U - E - O あ・い・う・え・お". Expressing some pronunciation of different language is always troublesome. For example, there is no "th" sound in Japanese so we express it with similar pronunciation but it doesn't sound right for English-speaking people like you. (The → Za, Thing → Singu) Another example you already know is Su's pronunciation of chocolate. It sounds like "Cho-Ko-Re-ee-To ちょ・こ・れ・い・と" 😄 I hope this will help your understanding.

funny you mentioned dragon force. they wrote the guitar parts to the song and i think recorded them as well! glad you enjoy them so much and if you can, try to find videos of them live. however many are compilation videos that can be confusing for new fans so read descriptions. videos with budokan black night in the title are very good even if from 2014. or check our karate live at download 2016 or ijime, dame, zettai live at sonisphere 2014. a personal recommendation would be catch me if you can from budokan black night or metrock 2015 since its on youtube. cmiyc has an instrumental intro with the live band so it's worth checking out!

Babymetal are currently on Hiatus. But when they come back and start touring again, you need to understand that their really BIG shows are usually only in Japan. There have been a few exceptions to this...they played the "Wembley Arena" in London, UK in April 2016, the "L. A. Forum" in California, USA in October, 2019 and at the "Stadium Live" in Moscow, Russia in March, 2020. Most of their World Tour venues are smaller, say between 3k-10k capacity....but some as large as 20+k. These shows do have their advantage as you have the chance to be much closer to the group than you would at one of the Giant venues. I hope you get your chance in the coming years to experience them LIVE!! More Babymetal Always!!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

> "They are amazing." Yes, they are. And after 11 years, three studio albums, and even more live albums I cannot await their next studio album for god's sake! And yes, absolutely more BABYMETAL! I recommend another epic performance: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Bullying, Don't do it, Never ever) live at the Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html Sonisphere 2014 was their first-ever performance at a big metal festival outside of Japan and this song concluded the set they've played.

In 2016 I flew from Australia to see both Black and Red nights of the Tokyo Dome performance. It was totally EPIC!!!! 55,000 sold out arena both nights and they played a completely different play list each night. The best performance(s) I’ve ever witnessed by far. If you can react to anything from that concert you’ll see the scale of the show. Simply amazing.

Old school BABYMETAL head here. You hit nail on the head. On paper this combination of sweet and brutal shouldn’t work, yet it just does - magnificently :-} I remember the moment I got hooked as if it was yesterday. I saw Doki Doki Morning back in 2015, and the moment when the beat dropped and they started head banging, I knew it was all over for me. They’re simply incredible, unapologetically epic. Su is a beast and the band as well. They make me nostalgic for a past I haven’t lived. I saw them live at their first concert in the US, in a small venue in LA, before they blew up world wide. They were still finding their footing - thE concert RoR was taped at is in Japan, and it is obviously more polished and they are more confident. By now, Yui (the dancer on the left) has left the band due to health reasons, and one of the guitarists died a few years back from an accident while star gazing :-( They will always have a special place in my heart, and I will follow them wherever. Songs you HAVE to check out are: Rondo of Nightmares, Headbangerrrrr, Karate, BxMxC. There is a wide variety of awesomeness waiting for you. Welcome to the rabbit hole, fellow Kitsune! \m/ BABYMETAL \m/

This was the 3rd song/video I consumed when I started my BABYMETAL journey. I didn't know their history at that time but after watching their first song/video I wanted more. I think I saw Gimme Chocolate then Karate then this ROR. All 3 made me smile and wow'd me and left me wanting more. But when Su, Yui, and Moa started to walk down that bridge and the crowd all sang along, I felt the energy and love I personally never felt before with a band and their fans. And seeing these 3 tiny girls become giants just left me speechless. I was an absolute 100% fan ever since. I quickly watched anything and everything I could about BABYMETAL. All the way back to their Sakura Gakuin days. I bought like 12 of their concerts on Blu Ray as I wanted to see entire shows. I could never be a "Reactor" as I wouldn't be able to wait to make a reaction. I wanted to soak up everything I could there and now. I never had this emotional response and adoration for any band before. And I like to think I like a lot of music. BABYMETAL just does everything right for me. They are so unique and I just adore those 3 girls. So much talent and humbleness. And the Kami band blows my mind as well. The respect they give the girls and the respect back is amazing. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of your journey into the BABYMETAL Galaxy. Welcome to the ONE. 🤘🦊🤘

it was New Year Fox Festival. (10 Jan 2015). This song was last one. 15 songs /95 min concert. I know many ppl suggest many songs. Really there is no bad songs. Every song is good. From me: BABYMETAL -【最高音質】AKATSUKI「DARK NIGHT CARNIVAL」埼玉アリーナ live compilation I think that in terms of level this song is very close, if not better, than Road of Resistance. Why this version? Its from 2018. Its 4 years later than Budokan 2014. Really Budokan 2014 version not so bad.. But 2018 version MUCH stronger voice and MUCH better sound. If u compare it u will see a big difference. U can choose what u want.. but trust me - version from Dark Carnival WAY better. Suzuka became real Rock Queen here.

I have been part of the One (Babymetal's name for their fans) for over a year now, and as of now this old headbanger (53-years) ranks them as his favorite group (sorry, Savatage). First, a quick correction on your vocabulary and gestures. You have gone down the fox (not rabbit) hole. The Fox God is very important to Babymetal. They make frequent mentions of the Fox God like when the Fox God met the Metal God which is a Babymetal and Rob Halford team-up. Many videos have the girls wearing fox masks. And when you make the hand gesture (as explained by Su-Metal) it is the Fox God sign not the Devil's Horns. To adjust, take the 2-middle fingers which in the Devil's Horns are under the thumb and move them to where the tips of the fingers touch the tip of the thumb. You can make fox shadows on the wall with this gesture. If you want more of the Kami Band, check out "Rondo of Nightmare." For the youngest Babymetal proper video check-out "Doki Doki Morning." Su-metal, lead singer, was 14 and Yui-Metal and Moa-Metal were 12. Then, there is Black Babymetal which are Yui and Moa without Su. I believe these pieces are used to give Su a break during concerts. "Onedari Daisakusen" is my favorite of the Black Babymetal playlist. The song is about the girls trying to talk dad into giving them money and presents. Adorable is the understatement.

“What was it like” even though I wasn’t there that concert. I was fortunate enough to travel throughout Japan in 2019 and even more fortunate around the time Babymetal had a show during my stay in Tokyo. And to add another fortunate to the story. I was super fortunate to get a hold on a ticket since they worked with a sort of lottery system to get tickets. Let me tell you attending a show of this band is beyond anything i have ever witnessed. The show was played at a sold out Saitama super arena of around 20 000 people and let me tell you the atmosphere is so amazing, the Japanese crowd is quite something else in every positive way possible. Seen them twice after that in their European tour just before covid and albeit an amazing live performance on both accounts, it doesn’t get anywhere close to a Japanese stadium performance.

I saw them live in San Francisco in 2017 (I think) and every song packs a punch. The crowd is 100% into every song. The concerts aren't long, about 80 to 90 minutes, but since every single song rocks, I was exhausted at the end. Still, I wanted more! At the end, the girls leave the stage and the crowd gives the Kami band just as much love as they give the singers. Great experience!

The band does sometimes get lost due to shear impact Babymetal do have. They are called "Kami Band", and if you really want to hear them, then listen to 'Rondo of Nightmares with Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro' (the band are also sometimes called 'Gods of Metal'), the live performance from Budokan Black Night 2014 is recomnded. As a side note, Babymetal is not the only group mixing metal and J-POP. It has become its own genre now, called Kawaii Metal (Kawaii meaning cute). For a different experience, check out Deadlift Lolita.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who tears up at this. BABYMETAL fucking rules.

The buildup from 10:55 to 11:15 is truly epic. This is an anthem! It's clear that some serious music theory and market manipulation is going on here. But even though we KNOW that this song is designed to elicit these emotions, we let it. It's worth it. It's just that good. As for the admiration of the Kami Band, we fans of BABYMETAL recognize the genius that each member of the Kamis possess. They are not underappreciated. Just know that they do change from time-to-time, and they are (usually) NOT the same musicians that you hear on the album tracks (the Kamis are better). Unlike most idol groups, BABYMETAL made a conscious decision to use live musicians on stage. The fandom took notice, and when Mikio died we felt the loss very deeply. When the Western Kamis took the stage, we found out who they were and we welcomed them to the family. The Road of Resistance and IDZ performances with 10 Kamis and all three Avengers on stage with Moa & Su are simply next-level wickedness. But you have all of that still to come. You're lucky that you decided to carry on. You • Have • No • Idea • What's • Coming #NotACult
