What a fantastic tribute to a phenomenal song

As someone old enough to remember the events that this song is about the original always chilled me to the bone. It was a beautiful tribute to a horrible time. So when I saw this video my first reaction was this cover will suck but after seeing the intro text they did the right thing and it was a stunning tribute. R.I.P. Dolores and thank you for giving us your unique voice to remember you by.

As someone who suffers from PTSD I understand her composition of this song. They did an awesome job of bringing this song back to life... the lyrics still ring true. 😔

the video is also a tribute...in the original video Delores is in gold paint....so its supposed to be her on the other side...to those complaining about the 'goodness' of this cover, remember, Delores herself LOVED their cover...you can not like it, preferring herself...but, calling it trash is just wrong

This is right up there with the original by The Cranberries with the powerhouse that was Dolores. The video is paying homage to the original video as well. The story behind is tragic. The bombing in England that killed two little boys. Her phrase "It's not me, it's not my family." The IRA claimed that the bombings were for the Irish people and that was her response.

I will never feel anything other than that Delores was a tool held by the hand of God when she preformed this song…. RIP Delores

I'm usually in the 'original is better than a cover' crowd, but on this song, it's unfair to make that qualification in my opinion. It was and remains not only a powerful song, but a beautiful tribute to another talent gone from this world too soon.

Yup Unfortunately brother you are old enough to understand this just like this Bad Wolves Version of Zombie and the Legendary 90s most popular Original and most meaningful one that started it all are both way more relevant today than it was back then and they're still fighting but with way more powerful accurate weapons like drones which is a new add on in badwolves that everyone likes in that version so it updates what Dolores was trying to say all those years ago about if nothing changes nothing changes but us and more ways to wipe us out that's why today especially this song means way more than people realize it means even back in 1994 it was about kids being killed in another senseless war that could have been avoided. But Unfortunately for the human race history continues to repeat itself like Dolores says since 1916 were still fighting and dieing now in 2023 with the War in Eastern Europe with no end in sight and humans dieing in the thousands and kids to now either growing up without a whole family father or brother Dolores message is the same once again they are dieing it's like my WW2 family members that's left says if we're not careful will be heading into another world war it's like 1937 all over again before WW2 started now in 2023 all the ingredients are there just different players politics and events the message and outcome always stays the same unfortunately in these uncertain times we live in now during a World Pandemic and Civil Unrest at Home where democracy and everything is on the line this time if the wrong people get back into power and make another catastrophic mess were still cleaning up

I don’t particularly adore the sound of this version, even the lyric change/addition works, but it’s not as emotional as when the Cranberries would perform it. Especially when you remember those people lived through the effects of The Troubles that this is written from. I love the tribute so much though, pretty damn cool how they incorporated the original video. This is definitely a lot better than the Sound of Silence one, yuck.
