My daughter came to me with this song when it first came out. I've got mental health problems & have survived several attempts that should have ended me. We listened to it and discussed the lyrics line by line. It was a way for her to ask me questions without feeling like she was prying. This song will always have a special place in my collection. Thank you for the reaction. 💙 from Texas!

They truly are criminally underrated, I’ve seen them live several times and I love watching them get bigger with each concert. They do not have a single bad song, in no particular order you should check out… The Jester Move Me Promise Me 30 Heroin

Badflower is one of those bands that is super dark with their messaging, but its because they really care about mental health and self hate. These guys and Blue October have gotten me through a lot.

Blue October was there for me in my teens and badflower is here for me in my 30’s. Thing about mental health issues is that it’s never over, it’s a constant battle and it does get exhausting

I’m a psych nurse and clinical educator. I’ve used this song when I’m talking to new staff about suicide and depression. The line about regret of the act, I talk about at the same time as I talk about the Kevin Hines video after I show that.

@@A.Radwick yeah they played a super small, unknown venue and I’d never heard of them honestly. I kind of felt bad because I know they would have had a bigger crowd in anchorage…. On the other hand it was a gorgeous day and you could see all the mountains around the stage so 🤷‍♀️

I love this song. As someone who suffers from chronic depression, I can say this song has played a role in keeping me around. While in those desperate moments, it has brought me back to what is important. It reminds me that even though my pain would end I would only be passing it off to someone else, and that's something I don't want to do.

Such an underrated band. Move Me, Promise Me, Johnny Wants to Fight, The Jester, 30, Family, all great songs. You literally can't go wrong with anything of theirs.

I was recently on Shiprocked again with these guys. They are an absolute *favorite*. I was singing their song, Animal, during karaoke and Joey Morrow (guitar) ran up on the tiny stage and sang with me! Check out 30 with the video.

This band is the exact type of lineup and dynamic I've always wanted. I've always found it easy to put a trio together, but only briefly had a quartet like this. Great band. This song is on one of my main playlists.

Just saw them in St. Louis last summer. They're incredible and relatable. And yeah, it's one of those things where it's the list of all the regrets and feelings that burn through with these attempts, and the rage definitely comes with the anger with yourself for trying or even feeling like you should try. Family is another heavy hitter (from their list of heavy hitters). It's relatable comfort music.

Bad flower is my favorite band hands down. I would love if you reacted to Family, 30, and/or promise me. But the vast majority of their songs are very heavy. For more social commentary songs I would suggest Everyone's an asshole and machine gun of their most recent album.

These guys speak out the dark things in my head that I can't talk about with anyone without sounding crazy. And maybe I am crazy, but at least I know I'm not alone. ❤️ Next one you do, "Family" is a strong option, or maybe "Jester" if you want one that's less depressing. "Machine Gun" is really good too, plus you can use it to talk current events. Cheers!
