I'm 84 years old. I knew who the Bee Gees were but when I listened to your reaction video of Too Much Heaven, it was seriously the first time I heard them sing. NOW, I am in love with them. And I have a huge crush on Robin. Yes I knew Robin and Maurice are deceased. They called Robin a songbird. Indeed he was. I wondered if he could whistle. Googled it and yes, just like a songbird!! Heard Maurice solo and he had a deeper voice and sounded a little country. Each one of them had perfect voices. Just like angels!

Born in Douglas on the Isle of Man between the UK & Ireland. Parents moved to Manchester England when the boys were little. Later they migrated to Australia. They were a kid act there and as teenagers --In the 60’s they came back to England to ride the British Invasion (musically), they made it big there and then in the USA. Only Barry is the only living brother now. He was the one in the middle singing. His youngest brother Andy (who also died) also had a solo career (sounded a lot like Barry). They have written over 1000 songs for themselves and others. There are some great suggestions below.

Barry, the oldest, and the only one still living, is in the center. To Barry's right (Robin) and his left (Maurice) are fraternal twins and have passed away. Their younger brother, Andy, has a solo career in the 1980s and he passed away, as well. There is a video of all four of them performing "You Should Be Dancing!"

honey i watched you about 5 weeks ago. you are such a blessed guy. i just watched the doctomentery of the Bee Gees i didnt realize they had went to World Wide Fame. 1000 songs they rote. and everyone was kept as they wrote it. Now all are Dead. no one has ever compared to them. they are all lead singers in different songs. little brother Andy Gibb also made his career singing, but got into drugs and ruined his heart. died at 30. I to felt the way you did. i was so lifted in my Sperit. i told my husband i felt likr i had been lifted up to God from this song. i am Penecostal and have been in some amasing singing and Worshiping hightes with my Lord. We hurd the Heavenly Quire Singing with us one night. most Beautiful Voices. You are now traveling down the rabbit hole. They have written and composed many songs for others too. I grew up with them. I was in High school in the 70’s. Our lunch room had a jute box that was always jamming. Bee Gees we’re always a big hit in our time.

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats.This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.
