Firstly this MV has a lot of hidden meaning which come from the book "Damien". Also this song has such a sensual yet sexy choreo to go with it and this songs choreo is my fav. Also jiminies 'shoulder accident' in this MV is a long running joke to us army's and his vocals are just so angelic it's like he is an angel from heaven. Also you see Tae with those scars on his back they represent wings that been torn off as he represents the fallen angel and if you look closely this whole MV and song is about being tempted and trying to resist that you cant have. U had to watch this MV hundreds of times to catch everything (still everything I watch it I find something new that I missed)

The intro voice that came through is Jimin's (full name Park Jimin). He has one of the most unique voices in the industry and his vocal range is insane! You should definitely check out the introduction before you move on to their live performances and other songs, it will give you a good footing to their individual selves and their voices. Long story short - each member plays a pivotal role in that storyline which runs through and connects several of their other videos (that would be a whole different journey to dive into). the 'you' they mention here is the 'temptation' to stray from the right path which each youth has to face in his time. when the devil tries to lure you from pure truth and you are tempted to lose your innocence. BTS has a fictional storyline that runs through their music videos. This song is from the wings album which mainly talks about sin and temptation hence the black wings on the statue etc. It talks about how each member gets tempted by something and bc of that their lives start going downhill. When Jin kisses the statue it means he “sealed a deal with the devil” and also V is that devil that’s why when we got a close up on him his back had scars that look like there had just been wings there (or so I’ve heard from theory videos) and after these traumatic things that happen in their lives, they try to find love. But it isn’t true love hence the song fake love. In the next set of album series (love yourself) they find out that to love others you must love yourself first. But now that love yourself era is over we have the new map of the soul era including a black swan and on (I recommend u listen to the whole album bc it’s an experience) I recommend you watch the explanation video it will explain it a lot better and with more details. The first guys voice, the angelic one, is jimin’s! He actually gets called angel and fairy because of his looks but mostly because of his kind and caring personality too, he studied and danced contemporary, popping and has a black belt in a martial art (can’t remember which one) and has done other multiple martial arts too. I honestly think he will be your bias because of his really warm and cute like personality! He really loves his members and is always really attentive. (If someday you want to check out his solos they are “lie, serendipity, promise and filter”)

I swear this MV was revolutionary when it dropped, it brought SO many people to BTS. Dope was the first one to bring a lot of new fans but BST was something else. First of all, 2 voices caught your attention. The first was Jimin, and the second was V. They are 2 distinct voices. Both are amazing! As for my vote…..I would do the intro video first. The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: Story Of BTS ( the 2021 updated version), there’s no reading to distract you from the info, and it shows you how the members were picked to form BTS. Then, I would watch the MMA 2019. Although you won’t be familiar with all the songs they perform there, it is the best live performance I have ever seen . Don’t forget it’s an award show !

You have stepped into the Bangtan Universe (aka BU). The BU is a fictional story that started in 2015 and is still going on (told through MVs, books, short films, highlight reels, webtoons, album notes, a mobile game, etc...). In 2016 Army was researching like crazy to understand the meanings in this MV. Hermann Hesse's book Demian was the main influence, the doorways, the statues, the paintings, the green drink, the flowers on the mantle, the carving above the mirror all have meaning. This was such a fun time for Army. It still is.

He's a baritone but he can go incredibly high as well (see; Stigma). If Jimin's voice is honey, his is chocolate. Blood Sweat and Tears video and song were built and written based on Demian, a novel by Hermann Hesse which won a Nobel prize in literature back in 1946. I read this book (because of this Mv) and I'll try my best to interpret and summarise the story here. The story follows a young boy named Sinclair who had a friend named Demian. Demian acted as Sinclair's mentor during his childhood and transition to adulthood. Sinclair as a young adult experienced series of existential crisis, believing he lived in between the world of light (the world of illusion, full of goodness) and "the dark world" (the real world which was full of lust, temptation, anger and evil world). Demian, and later on Sinclair's another mentor Pistorius, believed that in order to become a full person a human needs to embrace both of their light and dark sides. This will then lead Sinclair to find out about Abraxas, the god of light and darkness. There are sooo many imageries and jaw-dropping details on the MV that represent details in the book. But the point is this song is about the loss of innocence and temptation, about being a human and embracing both of your good and dark sides. Jin represents Sinclair in this scenario. The scene where Jin kissed the statue (which I believe the representation of Abraxas, who is also V) means he seals the deal with the devil himself in order to fully embrace himself as a person who isn't perfect, full of flaws. The white and black doors represent the world of light and the real world. Suga playing piano represents Pistorius who was an organ player in the story. The phrase that RM read in English here was also taken from the book, page 26 (on the version that I read). It says "He too was a tempter, he too was a link to the second, the evil world with which I no longer have anything to do." "He" here refers to Demian, that Sinclair once thought as a bad influence for him, maybe it's because Sinclair tried to deny his dark sides. The book is heavily influenced by a Swiss philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung. One of his pupils was Hermann Hesse's doctor back then. This MV and song are also influenced by a german philosopher Nietzsche. There's a quote by him on the wall above the painting that Jin is staring at. It is in German but it means "You must have chaos within you in order to give a birth to a dancing star". Again, the same theme occurs here, about embracing both of your light and dark sides. Only by accepting your flaws and mistakes you can reach your true potentials. Hesse learned a lot about Jung's psychoanalysis and experienced it himself so that was why Demian was heavily influenced by it. What makes it even more interesting, BTS album MOTS 7 is also based on Carl Jung's theory (hence the songs Persona, Shadow, and Ego were born-- these 3 elements are important in Jung's theory Maps of the Soul). BTS are deep, my friend. The way every single song on their albums contributes to the whole storyline of the album but also stands alone is so difficult to achieve and something you only see in very few artists worldwide (like Taylor Swift). Also don't even get me started on the wordplays and entendres they do. They are such experts at it (especially Namjoon). They are so notorious for their wordplays that the Korean translators find it extremely hard to decipher them. You need to know multiple languages to understand their wordplays sometimes. Not to forget they have written songs in other languages like Japanese and English too. BTS also have the most unique song concepts I have ever seen. They have songs based around metaphors from different subjects like astronomy, zoology, Greek mythology, psychiatry, feminism, etc. Like you can clearly see the amount of research they do while writing their songs. They have so many other literature references in their songs too (BTS have added so many books to my booklist because of this). The diversity in their topic of songs is so vast too. One of the reasons, in my opinion, for their success is the deeper meanings and imagery of their videos and lyrics. Touching hearts of all ages. Yes the visual and music is great but again, it always goes deeper. When you get into this you will be even more impressed. DKDK TV gives great explanations putting things in Korean context and fan theories of the BTS Universe will show you things that will blow your mind.

I found you tonight and watched the 10 BTS reactions one after another.. Almost crying with you even though I have been an ARMY for years.. You do find them when you need them.. I adore how honest and kind you are.. When it comes to watching BTS song for the first time (or any kpop), I never bother with lyrics.. I play it and absorb it for what it is.. I think at first he was thinking Jimin and Tae were the same person based on their voice. (I know we can easily tell but in this song, the pitch is very high at times even for taehyung) The way he mentioned Tae’s voice, he was acting like it was the same as when he spoke about Jimin,and speaking like they were one person and did again when Jimin came back in at the 7:16 mark! But you can notice his facial expression changes when Taehyung slips in right next to Jimin so I think it clicked they were two separate people. He definitely likes Jimin and Taehyungs voice! 2 opposite ends of the spectrum and I completely understand,two very extreme vocal tones. I can’t wait to see him get into more BTS, hoping for another introduction soon!

I love these reactions… I hope you’ll increase them! I fell down the rabbit hole 3 years ago, and discover new songs by them or by the individual members daily. I used to work in a music industry capacity when I was younger, even was housemates with some famous musicians and had a great deal of exposure to all genres of music. I have never encountered anyone like BTS…they are truly amazing. They cannot be pigeonholed to one style of music. I don’t even know what I’d suggest next…every song is my favorite. By the way, the other day Rolling Stone magazine released an article listing their top 100 favorite BTS songs. Yep, you read that correctly… Top ***100***. Check it out.
