Yess these are both so good!!! Tae's a huge rap line fan so getting to do DDAENG was a dream for him, and the rest killed it (especially JK)! And I'll Be Missing You is so beautiful and feels so special with what's going on.

I love this version of Ddaeng! The song I'll be missing you is a version of the original song. "Every breath you take " by The Police, so I'm not surprised you weren't sure of the title! Please keep doing BTS reactions. We will need our weekly fix until they all return in 2025.

12:59 the very original was by the police/Sting, thats what youre thinking of. "Every Breath You Take". Its the melody the song starts off with. P Diddy & Faith Evens sampled "Every Breath You Take" for the song "I'll be missing you", which was a tribute to the late Biggy Smalls (aka the notorious b.i.g. ) after he got shot. Namjoon changed hís verse to say "give anything to see ½ your face" because they covered this during the pandemic. Obvs hobi & yoongi rewrote their verses to reflect the pandemic as well. 💜 😊

You need to listen again without comments so that you can fully absorb their glorious harmony's-this is such a wonderful cover and DDAENG was so good!!!! We will so miss them all, and I do think RM, JK, Jimin & V are going together by design, in order to be back in mid 2025, but JIN will be back this June, then Hobi in October, so we just have to keep loving & supporting them until they all return!!! There is SO much new content from them now (solo things), that they are feeding us like mad..JK's new remixes with Justin Timberlake (his 3D) and now with USHER doing Standing Next To You (MV coming soon!) are AMAZING, so hope you can react to them, Luke! I try to support you as much as I can, but BTS is my first love, and I don't do Anime, so haven't been on Twitch much, etc., but will always be here for as long as you do BTS-of any sort!!! Another thing you need to react to is V's Tiny Desk concert-it was beyond epic-so, so good!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

All the vocalists did a great job- Jimin, you wouldn't guess such an angelic voice would be so good at rapping. Jin, up there thoroughly vibing with Hobi. V, his voice is so suited for rap, and he was loving it. But Jungkook. Just... 💥 The Golden Maknae. He even *sounds* like RM, he put that same disdainful-dismissive tone in that RM so often uses in his anti-hater raps. Musically, he's like a sponge, he absorbs how someone sings or raps, and then he does it the same way. Yes, Sting's 'Every Breath You Take' got turned into 'I'll Be Missing You'- with his permission- to honor Biggie, you know. The boys put a little spin on the lyrics, like when RM raps 'Give anything to see half your face', referring to the mask mandates that were still in effect. And of course the parts in Korean. I really don't know how anyone listens to the cover without tearing up. The boys earned a ton of praise for this.

Thanks for this reaction, Luke and your appreciation for our lovely boys. I love both songs - Ddaeng for the vocal line rapping and "I'll be Missing You" because it's so apt. Fyi, this song is a reworking of that song by The Police / Sting "Every Breath you Take" and I suppose they changed some of the words because the original was too stalker-y for current times.

I love BTS Fridays, and long may they continue. 💜 And though 2025 seems a long way off, it will be here before we now it.💜 AND we still have new BTS content to look forward to. I'm not sure how many episodes of Suchwita Yoongi prerecorded, that still have yet to air - but we know there's at least one more, hopefully more. But we do know that Hobi has On The Street - were he dances with various other hip hop dances, in several cities around the world - coming out next year. Jungkook and Jimin have been filming a travel variety show, which will probably be out in 2024. And who knows what other surprises they've prepared for us; but you can bet they have some.💜 Also the new drama, based on the BU, is coming out soon (if I can just find out where to watch it). Which is going to be very interesting (and maybe a little surreal) to watch, but I'm looking forward to it.💜 Honestly, I have a feeling that, whenever we start to miss them - and feel like 2025 is so far away - we'll suddenly have new content to keep us going. Which is great for us - and great for BTS, and Big Hit. So a win-win all around.💜

Thank you Lukas. TS did this song as a Requiem, when Covid-19 effect was raw; they meant it for those who we lost during the pandemic, our beautiful loved ones, the young and the old, taken from us so unexpectedly Maybe it’s why they felt it so deeply and all sang it from their souls

I love this vocal line version! Jin stumbling over the rap like he did when he rapped "Nevermind", Jimin being too shy and cutting a line, Tae finally getting to rap a Suga part live (he was so hyped in the Ddaeng recording behind the scenes) and JK rapping in call-and-response with his idol, everything is perfect here.

Yes this is a rap line song but having the vocal line does it was amazing and fun. The rap line did the chorus and adlibs with them helping them along. TAE Loves Rap and its like his dream to be doing this rap song. And JK killed as well. Loved Jimin and Jin great job to all of them. It's one of my fav lives lol. I'll be missing you cover is my 2nd fav cover next to cover Fix you by Cold Play. I Love the Ddaeng cover by the rap line! Jimin and Jin taking over Hobi’s part, Tae taking over Yoongi’s, and Jk with Namjoon. You’ll eventually get to that one Run BTS episode where Jin is rapping to a song with such focus and passion, actually I think it happens in multiple episodes. Actually I think it’s whenever he gets angry 😭 And you can tell Tae practiced for that 🫶

Thank you so much for these BTS Fridays Luke! I’ve been so stressed and exhausted today that this really helped me. I remember when The Police sang the original song and hearing how well the harmonies are from BTS is beautiful! I love your reactions and BTS doing things live is so much fun and awesome to hear! Come on, now, you know the guys better than that. There's no lip-syncing in this. The rap line is actually singing. If you haven't seen it yet, you should check out their cover of Coldplay's Fix You. The rap line is very clearly singing in that one. And you're right, the original song is called Every Breath You Take. I'll Be Missing You is a remake of the song, in honor of Notorious B.I.G., who was shot and killed in March of 1997. The female vocals in the remake were by Faith Evans, who is his widow. The cover of the remake that BTS did was for ARMY, since this was during the Covid lockdown.
