Winter Bear is a song dedicated to his grandmother. She helped raise him while his parents were working to provide for their family. He adored her with all his heart and opened up to Army about her passing during a concert. He ended up breaking down on stage because he missed her so much. Winter Bear is such a comfort song for us. Truly one of a kind. Also the new cover he released is just so beautiful! Taehyung loves jazz music. Every one in a while on his Instagram he’ll post him vining to jazz or listening to it while driving somewhere. He’s an old soul. Also his dog is out beloved 8th member of BTS named Yeontan! He’s been with us forever, ever since V first got him. He used to be so small, small enough to fit into your palm. He’s so big now 😭

V is a huge jazz lover. When he was in NYC for his Vogue shoot he visited Vanguard in the Village, one of the oldest jazz clubs in NYC. He also is a big Bing Cosby et al. fan and he plays the saxophone and the trumpet.

Winter bear 🐻 for me is a song I can sit and listen to while drawing, writing or reading. Omg! V’s passion is jazz. He took trumpet lessons because Chet Baker is his favorite. His song he put out last Christmas was jazzy. Snow Flower. You will love that.

He directed the Winter Bear MV, images were used on various trips and some specifically recorded details. He himself did the Winter Bear sign, chose the accommodation of the bears and photographed for the cover of the song that, like the cover, was a gift that he uploaded to Soundcloud and KZfaq. He is a lover of jazz and classical music, as such his favorite singer is Bing Crosby (who made a version of this song in 1951, less than two months after his release with Perry Como). Nothing lost since Bing Crosby and his style inspired greats like Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. Before joining Big Hit (when he was 15 years old) he had studied for 3 years saxophone which made him know music and fall in love with this style. He is an old soul; In addition to saxophone during these years in BTS he has learned piano, violin, guitar, trumpet; It has also made many Army´s interest these types of songs since they usually make very good musical recommendations.

His voice is honey smooth and so warm and rich, listening to it feels like being snuggled up in the coziest blanket with hot chocolate and a book while it snows outside. One day I will find a way to make it physical so I can wrap it around me like a blanket. Tae woke up at 4am in the early morning to shoot Winter Bear in the States and it is directed by himself. Winter Bear is an indie but Tae’s favorite is jazz. However, he said that he wishes to try working on different genres of songs. He’s a passionate music lover and you could find him listening and introducing different types of music in his Vlives and Vlogs. Tae wrote Winter Bear after watching the British movie ‘About Time’. He was inspired by the scene when the male protagonist proposed to his beloved lady while she was sleeping. This song has become a favorite lullaby to many. Babies calmed down and stopped crying after listening to it. Over the years, Tae had to sing in a voice out of his comfortable range. But now he could sing in his actual baritone and in the genre best fits him, he really stuns everybody with his velvety & jazzy voice! His voice is very unique as there are not many baritones in Asia. He loves Bing Crosby and Lady Gaga (he calls him Jazz Queen). Lady Gaga’s fans have asked for a GagaXTaehyung collab. Ah, I love Winter Bear so much ! That song, and Tae s'cover of Someone like you , make me really appreciate Tae's voice, some years ago. Compare to Stigma or Singularity, it's maybe less technical, and brilliant, but more soulfull. The song itself is beautiful, very poetic, and meaningful for V since he said he wrote it for his beloved grandmother. His last cover, "it's beginning to look a lot like Chistmas" is enjoyable too. This vintage crooner vibe fit perfectly to V, and I like the unusual way he used his barytone voice here ! That's a part of what made BTS so special : they never rest , they never take the "easy road", but continuously experiment new things, work to perfect their craft. They never give us what we expect, but each time, it's even better than any of our expectation ! I'm so curious for his futur solo album ! (and Suga, Jimin and Jk ! ) Happy birthday to our Taehyungie !!

Yes, Tae adores jazz, big band, 30s/40s music!!! As others said, he's our old soul!!! Love to hear him doing songs like this! Not to make you cry more, but the consensus is that he wrote Winter Bear in memory of his grandmother - it was released on the 3rd anniversary of her death (I don't know if he has ever confirmed that). He was very very close to her, and she died when he was on tour and he couldn't be with her.

Taehyung is such a special person. He’s not just the visuals but the most kind gentle soul. Winter Bear is the BTS song I’ve listened to the most. The last two rough years it’s often the only way I’m able to sleep by calming my mind at night when it’s churning and stressed. It’s like a gentle hug and the video he created fits it perfectly. His Christmas cover was a revelation in how his voice has again evolved to be even richer and his r flush even better. Never worry or apologize for taking a break but glad you could enjoy these. Tae credits Sammy Davis Jnr too, I’m guessing he grew up listening to their music through his grandparents initially, then it just gelled in him and luckily for us he his voice is perfect for it. I’ve noticed on all the reactions I have seen of this that there is surprise to start with but always there are smiles. He and Yeontan are truly delightful 🧸💜

Sweet reaction... TY. Tae loves the 40's style of Bing Crosby et al. He said on a recent 'live' that he wanted to live his life as a romantic. And the movies of the 1940's are a favorite era of his. Winter Bear is widely believed to be for his grandmother who raised him but passed on several years ago. It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas is a Bing Crosby cover and his voice is better than Bing's ever was (jmo of course). But he does have the kind of voice that reaches in and touches your heart. 💚🌹💜 😇

I'm so impressed by his phrasing and his beautiful voice. He's so incredibly talented. Tae loves jazz SO much, and one of his favorite singers is Bing Crosby. I think I would sell a kidney to hear him release an entire album of jazz standards.

I'm a huge fan of Kim Taehyung because of his unique, sweet, calm, velvety and deep voice. I think Taehyung has the most incredible voice among the members. I'm not into high/nasal vocals, but with Tae's voice, it's always perfect to listen over and over again. You're such a good reactor!

He made me cry when he hold Yeontan! What a voice! to me, this version is better than Buble's (and I love hearing Buble!). T has an old soul. If you want to know more about his musical taste, I recommend you to watch his last Vlog, when he just drove for a while and let us to hear his driving playlist. You know? V actually wrote this song for his Grandmother who passed away when he was on tour and he was raised by her when their parents were busy working and he absolutely loved her. Since he was born in December which is winter season, his Grandma used to call him something like Winter Bear... I absolutely love that song and it's one of the first song of V ever and from that day to this day Winter Bear is my ringtone as it reminds me of my own Grandma who passed away when I was in 6th grade...💜💜💜 I loved your reaction... I believe Tae is an "old soul!" I realize no one is perfect, but with his smooth warm voice and angelic looks, Tae is about as close to perfection as possible! Winter Bear is one of my absolute favorite BTS songs. Hope you feel better. Happy New Year! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Sinatra and lady ga ga and I think the combo that was created a while ago I vaguely recall he loved it… inspiration from all outlets as such I believe films songs styles etc…. Happy New Years Eve Eve.. hope you fell better soon take time for yourself.. I am ot7 but especially partial to Tae I find myself quite protective as seems a pattern a song drops and bad comments then run wild and seems an uptake not just Tae but BTS as a whole Hybe sent out a letter on Weverse of current legal proceedings agasint some … surely with them needing time too do solo work and simply have time too just be home without scheduling as such they need time too live seems a lot are trying too create trouble seems it’s going to continue too be uphill struggle which is sad… I’m here for the long run so will keep listening and like you learning and supporting each other💜🫶🏽

V loves jazz-he's simply an "old soul," so this is right in his wheel house (Bing Crosby did "It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas, originally, I believe). I do hope his solo album will contain MORE jazz-and anything else he wants to bring to us. His voice is unique and his range is incredible, as we know. For me Kim Taehyung has a wonderful voice! And a very different tone of voice from the rest of the bts members and other singers that kpop has accustomed us to.

Tae is very old school, he loves old movies and music, jazz music, he loves brass instruments, he plays the saxophone and was learning the trumpet too. His voice is so smooth and rich and velvety, it lends itself to this sort of music. Winter bear MV was possibly filmed by Jungkook, it is his style but it has never been confirmed. The dog is Tae's dog Yeontan, or Tannie for short, and he's had him since he was tiny. There's loads of videos out there from when he first got him. He's cute as a button and we love to see Tae and Tan moments 🥰🥰

V is credited as Actor and Director on the Winter Bear official music video. Although not confirmed, the style is very much like Jungkook’s GCS videos. There was a behind-the-scenes where Jungkook was accompanying him where the album picture was taken, and where the end part of the video was filmed. Likely he had a hand in the MV. The clips themselves could’ve been taken by the members or one of the many staff, who always seem to be holding a camera.

@@KTH1only JK is confirmed to have been there with him doing a couple of the scenes in the MV from the behind the scenes videos, etc. I meant that somebody else had to physically hold the camera to get the shots of Tae when he is in the shot. Of course, Tae has an amazing aesthetic, and may well have directed the types of shots that he wanted off himself. However, someone else had to have held the camera that filmed him.

@KTH1 and ACTOR TAEHYUNG tae certainly directed the entire thing... you can see his artistic stamp on every aspect, even down to the light dodge and burn effects used 36 times throughout the MV.... BUT kook and hobi helped him with some of the footage Tae is my bias, but he's not an island... many people came together to get this song released... i don't think he does everything himself. The support he gets from the members is part of the reason he is successful, just as his support of them helps their success. Please don't be toxic to those Tae cares for the most... his 6 brothers.... remember he said "BTS IS 7 MEMBERS, PLEASE HAVE LOVE FOR US ALL. " have a nice day.

@@KTH1only Я согласна с Вами. Да, Чонгук и Хоби могли помогать в съёмке, но идея, основная съёмка , монтаж видио- это работа Тэхёна и это стиль, именно Тэхёна, на стильЧонгука в GCS не похоже. Вспомните видио Тэхёна из Парижа, когда он летал на показ мод по приглашению в 2022 г(выставлял его в инстаграме) это же по стилистике,цвету, эстетике очень похоже на МV "Winter bear".
