Peter Cetera is the ballad KING. You need to check out You're the Inspiration, Glory of Love (from Karate Kid 2), his duet with Cher (after All), and his duet with Amy Grant (Next Time I Fall in Love). Chicago has another song that's actually one of my top favourite ballads - but it's not sung by Peter. It was their other lead vocalist. It's called Will You Still Love Me. I still get chills from it - decades later. Please check it out as well. Hugs from Canada. Love you guys!

@@jarrodmarshall1834 A lot of long time Chicago fans feel like this is the Era when Chicago stopped sounding like Chicago and started sounding like Peter Cetera's backup band. This is a great song and brings back a lot of happy memories for me but it doesn't sound like a Chicago song - their earlier stuff was far more complex and really showed off what great muscians they were but once Cetera started to take on more of the song-writing and lead singing they really just turned into another pop band.

It was a sad day when Peter Cetera left the band for a solo career. I've seen Chicago in concert several times. Some when Peter Cetera was still with Chicago. The most fun I had seeing them is when they toured with Earth, Wind & Fire. What a fantastic show that was.

I grew up with this great band from the 70's-80's. They were a rock & roll band with horns & blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, & pop music. They had a lot of great songs such as "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?", "Beginnings", "Questions 67 & 68", "I'm A Man", "Where Do We Go From Here?", "Free", "Lowdown", "Saturday In The Park", "Colour My World", "You're The Inspiration", "Will You Still Love Me?", "Look Away", "Feelin' Stronger Every Day", "Old Days" etc.

But I remember doing couple skate with him when we’re about 10 yrs old to this song. It’s bringing all the feels. We have been dating since we were 15 and we both just turned 45. But we were friends since we were 8. You guys and the fun live nights are helping me through. So thank you❤️❤️❤️

Peter went on to have over 18 years of his own catalogue of music, with his own band "The Bad Daddys" and traveling with an orchestra. He's been nominated in many awards, including for his bass playing. He just retired last year in Utah. Actually a whole night a Chicago is a great idea. You see how they grew from "Beginnings" and how they were innovative and tried and experimental.

While I prefer the earlier Chicago overall, this is one of the ballads that I like. Also, check out "Color My World," and "Beginnings." And yes, this is a truncated version of the song. The album cut has a jazz/rock outro, as someone else said. Check out the album version if you like; it completes the song.

Asia smiling the entire song. adorable. Chicago is my favorite band. They have some of the best love songs ever sang. Diane Warren and David Foster brought Chicago out of a slump they had been in for a brief time. They went from just a unique band instrument jamming band to a main stream band. But no matter what older Chicago fans like to say, the band kept their roots throughout the years while still holding onto their newer sound with the love songs.

Chicago is an amazing group, one that changed and adapted with the times. In the late 60s and 70s they were ground breaking with their horn section fusing jazz and rock for the first time, and one of the greatest guitar players of all time inTerry Cath (sadly he tragically died of a accidental self inflicted gunshot wound) who was also one of three lead singers of the group. Each having a distinct sound. Then they transitioned to a more pop sound in the 80s with ballads like this racking up hit after hit in 3 decades. I know how you love amazing guitar solos, check out this live performance of their hit "25 or 6 to 4" (refers to the time in the morning as he was trying to come up with words for a song. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdtxiNKrnNDNnZs.html

Deviating from Chicago's practice of having mostly band members playing on their albums, "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" featured several session musicians. The song featured producer David Foster on the piano, as well as three members of the American rock band Toto, including Steve Lukather on guitar and David Paich and Steve Porcaro both contributing synthesizers. The song's vocals were performed by Peter Cetera. The only other member of Chicago besides Cetera that played on the track was drummer Danny Seraphine.

When this song came out I was 12 and I remember listening to it for the first time and thinking oh my goodness this is such a beautiful song. Of course I don’t understand love the way in adult wood at that age but I recognized that this was a fucking awesome song. By the way, what an amazing, love song and just heart-wrenching when you listen to it.

Hard Habit to Break is a beautiful song. Also Glory of Love and Next Time I Fall. Peter Cetera's voice is ridiculous.

Chicago is fascinating because they started out having three lead singers who were also master musicians. Peter Cetera(bass) Robert Lamm(keyboards) Terry Kath(guitar). All three have lead vocals on their classics…

I grew up with and loved Chicago. Peter Cetera and the late Terry Kath were fabulous singers with Kath being one of the greatest lead guitarist's of all time. But do yourself a favor and look up 'Tribute Songs' including this one by a Russian ensemble that does all Chicago songs beyond perfect. They've toured the U.S. and are called 'Leonid & Friends'. You will be amazed at not just the vocals but the masterful musicians in their ensemble.

Chicago is an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967. The group was initially billed as the Big Thing before calling themselves Chicago Transit Authority in 1968, and then shortening the name in 1969. The self-described "rock and roll band with horns" blended elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, and pop music. They produced numerous top-40 hits over two decades, and continue to record and perform live. Yes

Chicago had to change their name, allegedly, the actual CTA threatened a lawsuit over the name.
