Yep. Alot of fantastic Blue Eyed Soul Singers came from Philly. Len Barry (123), Karen Young (Hot Shot), and Vickie Sue Robinson (Turn The Beat Around). Northern Soul gained Cult Status in England where kids from Council Houses aka Low Income Housing would dance to the msuic on Saturday Night. Sadly enough this song was inspired when John got Stood Up on New Year's Eve back in the day. They are the most successful Duo in Music. Also if you can check out Daryl's Music when he was in The Temptones.

This was their Breakthrough Song. It was inspired when John got stood up on New Year's Eve at the last minute. They also represented the last of the Old School in terms of TV Appearances. In The UK they appeared on The Music Show Top Of The Pops and The Old Grey Whistle Test, in The US they did American Bandstand, Solid Gold, The Midnight Special and were one of the very few White Acts to do Soul Train in the 1980's. Besides playing Piano, Daryl like Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and the Late John Lennon showed his versatility on both Piano & Guitar.

Very newest subscriber here! Could one of the factors that made you enjoy this song so much, be that, since there was no video story, you had to use your other senses more? Videos can be great, but, they're someone else's idea of what the song is about. Whereas, if you hear just the audio, the theater in your mind can make it's own story! Exceptional reaction!
