This was on the radio all the time when I was in early grade school and I always really liked it. Later I started being able to buy his record albums, and it's considered to be one of his most famous songs, but as I have gotten older, this song always means more and more to me every time I hear it. And I absolutely love it musically. If you want to really hear him rock, check out Suffragette City, another early hit. It is just so fun.

David Bowie was always a brilliant song writer and aranger. Some of the greatest musicians in the world worked with him, because they recognised his genius 👏. RIP David. We all miss you 😔

Bowie was once quoted as saying that he didn't think he was the best songwriter but that he was proud of his unexpected chord changes. After I heard that interview, I started paying closer attention and, like you, noticed that he has really unusual chord changes. His sound and style changed with practically every album, but those funky chords were a constant.

Bowie is a master of change, you never know what you're going to get. But you know it's going to be great. I'd suggest checking out Young Americans next from his R&B phase. It's amazing!

o.k., so as cool as old (all) Bowie is you gotta check out his track called I'm afraid of americans, so so so awesome, and proof of how Bowie "changes" with the times. peace out dude......
