@ravenclaw32732 жыл бұрын
It's not that Isabella never saw a cactus before, she just never manifested one. Won't spoil much out of what you've heard in these songs but, as you noticed later in the video, she finally got to manifest any plant she wanted and to reflect her emotions that way like her aunt Pepa's emotions are reflected in weather changes. She's never done that before, since she was always taught to be perfect, only make pretty flowers and all that. In a way, Isabella's story is similar to what Luisa shared in Surface Pressure. Always having to live up to expectations. Isa did reveal in "We don't talk about Bruno" that the prophecy uncle Bruno gave her was about her power growing and having life of her dreams. I'm sure you'll enjoy the movie and hope you react to it.

@pokaay31632 жыл бұрын
@@CupOfTaeWithAKookie its a family movie. A kids movie exists for the sake of entertaining kids and is not necessarily a critically “good” movie. A family movie has themes that both children but especially older audiences can relate to or deeply understand and enjoy in nuances that children might not be able to. This movie deals with subjects like generational trauma, colonialism/invasion, and how problems established in older generations can affect the family throughout its growth and pull them apart. Ed: not to mention specific character arcs in the story that many people regardless of age could relate to. Disney does not simply make “kid” movies, its more like they make movies that can be enjoyed by children as they are a big part of the demographic, but they are NOT the sole target audience. If they were then these movies would be more akin to caillou or something.

Right? I can’t believe it’s 2022 and I still am seeing male reactors acting afraid to watch and enjoy a Disney movie 😂 we’ve already had a plethora of male reactors for years talk about how they enjoy Disney in the past, and now newcomers with Encanto they’re all like “ohh i know it’s for kids, but I kinda wanna see it now even though it’s Disney” Man, I thought all adults stopped hiding their love for Disney and stopped their preconceived notion’s about it a few years ago 😂

My favorite part is how Mirabel doesn’t apologize for seeing her as annoyingly perfect or how her life was forced to seem perfect for so long, but rather is supportive of her being herself and encourages her to be that.
@geetha925332 жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s such a sisterly thing. She’s been occupied with her own problems of belonging and missing that even belonging has its problems. With both her sisters, once she realized that they were in pain, she is 100% supportive and loving. And she helps them blossom, that’s her true gift.

I love that the parts where Mirabelle sings in her sister’s song is about understanding her, validating, and celebrating her as she is. It’s not much but it means everything to Isabella. That’s why the house’s cracks disappear. Since the rift in the family is being healed.
@darkecofreak232 жыл бұрын
This movie is anything but a kids’ movie, my friend. Therapists have actually said they’re using plushies of the characters to help their clients express how they feel when they’re talking. Isabela singing about how she wants to see what she can do without the strictures of perfection being imposed on her, Luisa singing about how she feels like Atlas trying to hold her entire world on her shoulders, Mirabel singing about feeling practically abandoned by her larger family at the start. These are deep issues that I don’t know how many people are dealing with daily. You absolutely need to watch this movie in its entirety.

This is my favourite song in the movie and it follows a very powerful scene. In the beginning Isabela is the perfect princess of the family, the one who is antagonistic to Mirabel for reasons we don't know. And then we have the confrontation between the two, where Isabela reveals that she hates being forced to being the perfect one, that she doesn't love the man she's expected to marry and that there's all of these expectations on her from the family. And that her complex relationship with Mirabel is because she's quite jealous of there being no expectations of the powerless sister. And then this song starts and with Mirabel's help she breaks free, becoming who she wants to be, not who the overshadowing Abuela and the village wants her to be. She wants to grow the wild plants, which she also see beauty in and trees and so on, not just pretty flowers like everyone expects.

She says a line: what could I do if I just grew what I was feeling in the moment. I think her powers are linked to her mood, like Peppa and her control of the weather. She pretends to be calm and controlled and never bothered, the very image of "perfection", roses have been called a flower of perfection, this why she grew them. But! When she was arguing with Mirabel she finally let out that she wasn't perfect and was very prickly when she called her selfish. So what else is prickly? Cacti. She has only grown her facade, beauty, elegance and perfection, and never her true feelings.

Bro I would LOVE to hear you react to Viking tribal music. There is this band that has recreated as closely as they can with the historical knowledge available Viking music using instruments that would have been traditionally used. I would just be really interested in your reaction to this. Specifically the song Krigsgaldr by Heilung. Their music video takes real cave paintings from this era and kind of animates these cave paintings to tell the story of the song. The lyrics are actually a viking poem that's written on a viking grave. It's very interesting it tells the story of a rival Viking tribe raiding these Vikings village and these Vikings calling upon their gods for vengeance. Anyway I would be really interested in your reaction.
