I only recently discovered Dimash after ignoring him in my KZfaq recommendations for more than a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation" and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera, as well as vocal students, and professional singers. I just came across your channel (and subscribed), and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, his delivery, as well as his stage presence. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of his talent and vocal ability. I am looking forward to your next reaction. By the way, some Dimash fans are almost cultic to the point of fanaticism and they get outright defensive and combative over any perceived criticism of their "object of worship." Quite sad really because I am fairly certain that Dimash himself would handle criticism with much more grace and kindness. They would fare well to keep in mind that Dimash is just a man, not God. I am simply an admirer of good music and talent, regardless of genre, and do not count myself among the Dimash fanatics, but I am utterly amazed by him. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and comes from a very musical family. He started singing and piano lessons at the age of five when he was found to have perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master’s class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music". He graduated with Honours, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career. Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash used to swim 3 hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn. Dimash also plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. During his live concerts, he usually performs for more than two hours and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. His range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), according to some analysts, spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest are: vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during a live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His main genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto) pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g. screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, as well as Middle Eastern methods.

This beautiful song: "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written almost 20 years before Dimash Qudaibergen was born, but he definitely made it his forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed it as an idea, they didn't imagine who was going to be his definitive owner. I also enjoy his other versions of this song that are always in a unique and masterful way. This performance is only the tip of the iceberg. For those who have just started this long journey to the magical world that opens with the celestial sound which comes from Dimash's throat, it will be a before and an after in their lives, but it will be for the better. This young Kazakh artist has already been recognized as the World's Greatest Voice and although some are reluctant to acknowledge him, they will soon accept his mistake. Some call him an alien, angel, unicorn, the fifth element, and in many other ways, but all of those adjectives fall short. They also call him: The Golden Eagle of Kazakhstan. In my humble understanding, he is "just" God's favorite musical instrument. Thanks to an extraordinary innate talent, a correct and careful musical education and also with a lot of work, effort and perseverance, he has been able to sing like no one before and perhaps after. He is also a very educated, kind, respectful, humble young man with a great culture.

Dimash has an 8 octave range and has been known to sing in 14 different languages. He was a child prodigy that proclaimed at the age of 2 he wanted to be a singer like both his parents. He started training atbthe age of 4. He is 27 years old now. He has a PhD I'm music and is currently studying for his Doctrine in music. He wants to be a teacher/professor later in life. Just watch everything he has done.
