I love this duet! This song is normally a solo - from the musical Notre Dame de Paris. The other singer here was in an operetic competition show - in one episode they all had to do a duet with someone not in the competition. Dimash agreed to the duet. By the way, the singer here won.

This is a song from the musical “Notre Dame de Paris”. The lyrics are by Luc Plamondon. He also wrote SOS d'un terrien en detresse. This performance took place on in Moscow at the show "Big Opera“ November 13, 2016… and the solo became a crossover duet. (Frollo, the priest struggles with himself. The devotion for the church or the obsession for Esmeralda ... it tears him apart and he kills the other self.) Sundet Baigozhin is an internationally known opera singer from Kazakhstan (participant and winner of the competition as a representative of Kazakhstan) or as Dimash (here 22 ys) calls him, the golden voice of Kazakhstan and his brother. Sundat invited Dimash to sing this duet with him. It was listed outside of the rating and made a great impression. Wow. I had never heard of this duet, and now I have to watch it a thousand times!!! It is soooo beautiful, so tense, and it looks like Dimash raises his weapon skyward, so he couldn't possibly hit the guy, but the guy falls and dies.....now that's deep and clever. The struggle of the mind killed the bad guy, who shot at the good guy, who wasn't hit. I thought they were going to kill each other, so I was tense. Wow, this was excellent. And what a concept. I really enjoyed this. Thank you.

Then he wrote the story line, acted it, sang it, set in movie, not video format, catapulting it into 21st century art and music history ! A first of its kind and magnificent. You tend to forget in the viewing that every note for every instrument, musician, the choir, and himself, he put on paper,, weaving it for 14 minutes of " poetry in symphony", the genre, everything stemming from his brilliant imagination and virtousity. @GidKidDad, and dears one detail that makes sound this masterpiece even gorgeous is in the minutes between 01:36-01:40, in which you can hear throat singing and it is not in the original French version (please react to duet of Dimash and Tengri, where you can see the throat singing as well). Dimash and his sound producer Yerlan Bekchurin are keeping to add the musical elements from Kazakh roots, mainly nomadic culture. Here it is not heard vividly, but is it definitely the case in "Stranger" by Dimash with Kobyz elements, and in "Be with me" with Dombyra+Kazak rap and in Dimash's traditional costumes with ornament or without, for example "the red and golden" costume from his 2022 Almaty concert refers to the Golden Man, who was found during archaeological sites in the South-Eastern part of Kazakhstan many more. I am delighted and happy to see how local culture is mixed with global tendencies, yet having its own vibes and making sound Dimash's songs greatly along with his voice 💜
